Guest guest
Hi All,Found out on Monday that there is a recall on 4 models of AICD leads used by medtronic. I have one of those recalled leads. It's not like they can just remove it (major risk of death). Someone on here I think had several shocks after theirs was implanted and that is one sign of a problem with a fractured lead. So far 5 deaths have been connected to this.Blessings,Becky __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi Connie,They know by past interrogations of my AICD (last one was 3 weeks ago) that so far mine isn't fractured. They said they will watch me closely and that they're still looking into this as to what to do. There is some kind of noise that comes across with interrogation of the device that indicates fracture. I have to admit I'm scared.Blessings,BeckyConnie Griffis wrote: This is awful Becky, what is your doctor going to do? Guest guest
I know that Kay did have to get her defibrillator replaced a couple of years ago after it was recalled. As I remember, she hadn't had any problems herself, but with her history, they didn't want to take a chance. I think she had it replaced without any problems. I'm thinking it was the whole gizmo, not just leads. Like Monk says, "I could be wrong. . . . . . but I don't think so." Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Becky, I hope things are going okay; at least stable. I won't be online much for the next couple of days. My cousin flew in from San Diego tonight, my brother is arriving by bus in the morning, and 2 granddaughters at noon. They are all staying with me! We are having a bonfire/cookout Sat. evening, then my mom's surprise birthday party on Sunday, so I won't make it to the Faith chat again. Hugs coming your way from Indiana! Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Proverbs 17:22Boo! Scare away worms, viruses and so much more! Try Windows Live OneCare! Try now!
