Guest guest
This is just a quick update, Hailee is doing well, we have been out of the hospital since march.. Yeah.... We just moved into a new house, it is lovely, i checked out her new school today and oh i am so glad we are moving.. this school has a sensory room with a ball pit, they go on field trips with special olympics every week, she gets music and cooking class, and they have that special needs three wheel bike that everyone is talking about, she will get to take it home for one week every month. I am so excited, the classroom is huge, with an indoor swing, and foam jungle play area, so nice, i am so glad that we moved. we see our new neuro tomorrow afternoon, i am hoping that a new face, will maybe have some answers for us.. and hailee
Guest guest
Wow sounds great. I'm sure Hailee will love her new school. It sounds like I could have fun in there!! I've told Gracies OT a few times that she has one of the best jobs. Imagine getting to play with cool toys all day. Download the new MSN Toolbar Suite – now you can search your PC, too! Guest guest
, So sorry to hear that you are dealing with this. Sounds a lot like Sheldon. He's not 'autistic' by the DSM standards but has a lot of autistic characteristics. I think he'd be diagnosed with PDD if he didn't have the mito diagnosis. He never seemed to have ADD until recently when his attention span is so short for many things. Hope you're dealing okay now and had a nice holiday. How old is Hailee? Let me know if you have any questions. hi everyone, Hailee had her Pscy Eval yesterday and he diagnosed her with having Autism, pdd, ocd and adhd.. i spent about an hour in the parking lot crying... i hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holidays. love melissa and hailee bug... Guest guest
According to the DSM criteria- she cannot actually have any of those- as she has a mito Dx. She can have similar traits, but that is it- as she has a physical disability that figures into it. As for the report- toss it in the back of your file cabinet- you will need this man's name & address to send her glowing report cards to in a few years. I had a winner like that basically tell me to put my IRA money into long term care for my most affected kid when he was diagnosed with the same BS yours just was,- 10 yr. later I got a mito and secondary carnitine deficiency Dx- thank the lord the kid gained weight weirdly and we stumbled onto his true De's... which caused the OCD , ADD and autism like traits....he has CAPD from his mito problems, along with mild aphasia from the stroke ( which is also mito related0. Proud to say- he is a honor roll student who has always been a in regular classroom , who participated/participates in many team sports with NT kids, and does pretty well socially. He wants to and will be a teacher like his Dad... ( unless he changes his mind) Been when you are- do not lower your expectations...
