Guest guest
If it was recognized before surgery that Larry was at a higher risk to " throw a blood clot, " why were filters not used? Again, if your statement is true, the doctor's experience and judgment again come into question. Again, this punctuates the importance of knowing your surgeon and his/her abilities.>>>> How do we know that filters were or were not used? I don't think there is very detailed information on Larry's surgical page so I really don't know if we can debate the technical realities of his surgery at this point. Obviously this surgeon was NOT experienced in the BPD/DS since Larry was his first patient for this procedure. Compared to other DS surgeons, his overall ability is obviously less. BUT, I'm sure that Larry made his decision based on a complexity of factors --- One of them most likely being the proximity of the surgeon. all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt.
