Guest guest
Hi there. I have arthritis in both knees. I have shots of synvis ( think that is how you spell it.) You get 3 shots in each knee in weekly intervals. Then you are good for about a year. I also have bone on bone and am trying real hard not to have the knee replacement. This is the 3rd time I have gotten the shots and it works wonderful. My Dr. said you can use the shots in most joints. They have lasted me about 1 year each time. I too take pred. but had the shots before I got NS. And you are right you can't live without the stuff and it does mess a lot up. My knees were already shot but I got the sugar thing, pumpkin face and terrible discolored hands. The sugar thing is gone as is the pumpkin face but the hands are still discolored. I can handle that. Anyway I recommend the shots if you can get them. I am quite happy with the results I get. I hope it all works out for you and you are in my prayers. I know how it hurts to have bone on bone. Oh and the shots don't hurt. just pressure. Jackie from WI [sPAM] arthritis Hi just checking in to see if anyone has a problems with arthritis in knees, hips and ankles. My Dr. told me that I have it and the bone is bone to bone in places. He said it is from the pred.. We cant live without the stuff but boy does it mess up other things.Love to ya ,

Guest guest
Hi Jackie, thanks for the email. Sorry to hear you have the same thing. I did ask about cortisone shots and the Dr said, that would be putting more steroids in my bones so it would not be good to do. Are the shots you taking steroids? I do not want an ankle or knee replacement either. The Dr. said in my condition he did not want to do one, until I cannot walk at all. Also that you for keeping me in you prayers. Guest guest
Be, thanks for the information. It is good to know that someone have been through the surgery and it helped out so much. Love to ya, Just to tell you, I have both of my knees replaced, and it was the smartest move i made in my entire life. the cortisone shots eventually wear the cartlidge down even worse, so no more than one every six months is recommended. I am totally pain free. The short term pain from the operations was nothing compared to what suffering i entailed. Dont hesitate, its wonderful. and now the operations are so much better than when i had mine done, and the recuperation time is much faster. good luck . Hope you all feel much better soon.
