Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have had my appointment with Dr Stiles and she let me know that I have lost the necessary weight and that I need to attend the lifestyles 3 and 4 class. After that I can be scheduled for surgery. Things are happening pretty quickly, and I would like to ask everyone how they best prepared themselves for the surgery? Pretty much the do's and the dont's. I have read a lot but I feel nothing can explain it better then personal experience. So i'm hoping I will get to hear all the good things and, if someone has experienced it, the bad. Thanks, Sassy

Guest guest
i think i prepared for the surgery in a way my whole entire life.......... but by the time it came for the surgery i just felt calmness and serenity and relief that i was going to get my health into such good order , i just felt calm and peacefull, and maybe little giddy at the same time. I just focused on not gaining any weight to keep on the 1200 calorie diet and to exercise a little more than i had been since the healing and anthesia were getting closer. I had a few problems with registry nursing staff at ssf that didnt really know the protocol of gastric bybass surgery patients and a few other snafus, just be your own best advocate for anything your not sure about, twice i was going to just take out my iv and leave but i knew that was wrong............I talked to my doctor and he did listen and they sent a nursing administrator in to find out what was going on and i think that helped for future patients, at least i hope.....................loved dr gorrin by the way. Good Luck and keep us posted colleensassyandwicked wrote: Hi Everyone,I have had my appointment with Dr Stiles and she let me know that I have lost the necessary weight and that I need to attend the lifestyles 3 and 4 class.
