Guest guest
Tim, Joee turnrd 18 last week, he wrestled on his birthday so the family came over the weekend. We BBQ'd carne asada, sausages, chicken, and hotdogs. We had potato salad, macaroni salad, and chips (fritos), cake and ice cream. (oh yeah, I had chicken broth...yum yum!!) The grown kids took ALL the leftovers (joee needs none of it, he wrestles) but forgot the fritos. You asked. , WOOOOO HOOOO!!!!! Ya gotta admit, wrestling is coooooool! I remember when my oldest wrestled, he kept coming home with medal after medal....I figured I better go check it out. I was thinking Hulk Hogan type of stuff. OH MY GOD!!!! Highland has only lost one league championship in the fifteen years they have been a school. They were so poor then that the kids had no matching warmups and looked like orphans going to wrestle. Their good luck then was to trade a shoe with someone else on the team so even their shoes were mismatched. They are the bulldogs so they huddle in a dogpile in the center of the ring. I was so surprised to see high school kids be so relaxed and happy, no aura of machismo at all, they shared sandwiches, gatorade, socks. They sleep between matches on the bleachers or floor, often huddled right next to each other. But on the mat they went to work! And you are right, the stands and team just light up the gym with encouragement! I've shared that my childhood was a mess, so I always am amazed at happy succsessful kids who aren't a total mess. I'm so proud of Lucas, yell an extra " RIP HIS HEAD OFF!!!!! " for me on Thursday! Joee is a " fatty " this week, he has to lose two pounds by tommorow, so he is Isopure-ing it for dinner, and 24 hour fitness for dessert. He is 127, and needs to be 125 by wrestle tomorrow. (yes , TIM, too much food over the weekend!lol) I am so blessed in my adult life. I have a book called " The Inner Child of Your Past " by Missledine, it talks about what happened to us in our past never goes away, we are not kids on a Monday and adults on Tuesday, it has been so valuable for me to know where I came from but not live in that world. I always told my kids, as soon as you are able to lay blame to it, you can change it. I think Dr. has a new book out similar to the book I have, something like " Bad Childhood, Good Adult " I know that's not the right title but you get the idea. I'm so proud of you on your new eating habits, my clear liquids are helping rein Randy into smaller meals too, not that he was overeating, but he cut way back and still feels great. The girls at the corner diner know about my surgery, but I still haven't told the folks we eat with. We love them but it's not their bisiness. So, I order chicken soup, and they bring me only the broth. Nobody has noticed yet....I think it's fun. I still socialize, Randy eats a kids chicken meal and brings half of it home for lunch tomorrow. Our dinner bill tonight,... $7.50!!!! (joee was at the gym,) Thank you all for your encouragement, I know I could not have gotten the support out here that I get from all of you!!!! Kaiser?ucla has a suppot on line too;;;they hawk supplements, diet books, it is almost like hearing an amway pep talk...you get it. I love all of you so much!!!! Thank you again!!!!! You changed our life!!!! Hugs, Sue in Palmdale
