Guest guest
This young and with cf to boot I suggest you avoid 2nd hand shoes on the babies. These shoes are already formed to fit a totally different foot from what you would be putting it on. Years ago when was in physical therapy, his PT always stressed never put 2nd hand shoes on an kid. Not always possible, and yes on occasion I do use 2nd hand shoes, but I wouldn't on a younger baby/child. s. Re: first pair of walking shoes-second that!! My son is 13 months today! and we are looking at the whole shoe thing as well. I too am a huge proponent of barefeet/socked feet however with winter fast approaching and the soon to graduate out of the infant room. will be needing shoes. I know our doctor told us that what we needed to look for were soft soles, flexible shoes, that offer some support. Our son is also very flat footed. For the parents of older kids-can you help us out?? I have some hand me down shoes that are working well so far-but I would really like to know what good brands are out there that don't cost an arm and a leg! I have checked out stride rite and preschoolians but am hoping you have a secret shoe source that sells great pre walkers/walkers but don't break the bank. Please let us know!
