Guest guest
Jsckie I am so glad you were able to come to the group with your dispair. I have been were you are several times. What I found out is the sarc monster had attacked the seratonin receptors in my brain. Thus I experience bouts of severe depression and have felt suicidal several times. Now what you can do about this today. You can go to the nearest ER, they have crisis teams to assist in times like this. When it happened to me the first time, they asked that I do a voluntary commitment to a mental health unit. The doc was really nice and asked if I would feel better seeing what the unit was like before I said yes. I told him that if he thought it would help me I would follow his suggestions. After 24 hours in the unit he said that they concluded that the feelings I was experiencing were from the steroids and also the sarc in my brain. He said I could go home if I wanted to but it was so nice there I asked if I could stay the week as I wanted to learn how to deal with these new issues. I do not regret allowing them to admit me to the psych unit. I learned so much and also was put on some meds to regulate the seratonin that was all mixed up because of the sarcoid. Another positive thing is that I made some really great friends there, thete was one woman who stuck with me a lot, because all I did was cry the first two days I was there. It turned out that she had tried to commit suicide 9 times and that after spending time with me and also Bob when he came to visit, we talked a lot about the experiences in our lives and helped her understanding that suicide was not the answer. That was about 15 years ago, one day I received a call from Wanda's therapist who told me I had been the turning point in Wanda's life and I am happy to say she has never attempted suicide since then. We keep in touch. Bottom line is the inpatient experience was just what I needed, My fellow patients were really quite normal people going through some hard times. And the staff was beyond description, so kind and caring and really helped me a great deal. Many of us have felt the same was you are feeling and as the group said to me, SUICIDE IS NOT THE ANSWER!!! We are sending you love, hugs, understanding and most of all you are not in this alone. Many of us have been their and you just have to trust us that things will get better, and you will be able to help others who are going through bad times because you will really understand what they are going through. I know that right now you don't feel like you can carry on with this horrible burden so sit back and lets us help you carry it, Think how lucky you are to have people who you have never met care so much about you. Hang in there we are surrounding you with love, strength and courage to help you through the rough times. Most of all keep posting everyday so that we will be there for you and not be worried about how you are doing. Judy in PA
