Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My 2-month old daughter, , just got her last cast removed last Wednesday and has been wearing the P/M bar. I've noticed that on both legs, her heel does not go all the way back. Dr. Ponseti told us that it eventually should - when does this happen? Also we noticed that when we push one of her feet up to her bottom, bending her knees, sometimes the whole leg trembles. Has this happened to anyone else? Thank you, Yuuko and

Guest guest
Yuuko: I would email Dr. Ponseti. Joyce told me about you guys. You and natalie were there in IOwa right before we came. We stayed at RMH. has only been in his P/M since yesterday and I went back and watched the video I made during our last visit and he told us a couple of days before the heel would sit in the bottom to the back of the shoe. Hope all is well.... and yt94123 wrote: Hi Everyone, My 2-month old daughter, , just got her last cast removed last Wednesday and has been wearing the P/M bar. Guest guest
The PM's and newly corrected cf don't require the heel to go all the way back. At this point the heel is not fully formed yet but it will drop eventually. I don't know when, I think it's more a child to child thing than a certain time though. As for the trembling... my first son did that all the time. When he stretched his legs it always happened. Immature nervous system I suppose. He grew out of it in a few months IIRC. He is not CF either. My second son didn't do this much but did do it, and Darbi did too. Neither of the later two as much as the first though. I think you should consider it fairly normal (even if it's not really *normal*) and she will probably grow out of it soon. How is she doing with the brace anyway? Congrats on getting her feetsies free! Guest guest
Hi Kori, Thank you for your email and reassurance! I went to the pediatrician today (for her 2 month shots) and she told me the same thing - about the immature nervous system. And thanks for the info on the heel. I'm glad to hear that it'll drop eventually! I guess I was being a little paranoid about relapses! is doing fine with the PM bar. She doesn't seem to mind it much - she only fusses a bit when we put it back on her after her bath, but if we feed her right away, she calms down - so we're not sure if she's crying because of the bar or because she's hungry! It's great see her perfect feet! And today our pediatrician was amazed at Dr. Ponseti's treatment! She walked in saying " wow - perfect feet! " Initially she was trying to convince us to go to a local doctor, but after seeing 's feet today, she was convinced that we did the right thing in getting her treated by Dr. P. If she sees another clubfoot baby, I'm sure she'll recommend the Ponseti method now! Best, Yuuko and > >Hi Everyone, > > > >My 2-month old daughter, , just got her last cast removed last > >Wednesday and has been wearing the P/M bar. Guest guest
Yukko, Congrats on getting out of the casts! As for the leg trembling thing, it certainly could be immature nervous system or it could just be her muscles getting used to being free from the cast. Either way, if it still concerns you, you could mention it to her pediatrician or ortho doc next time you see either (or both) of them. > >Hi Everyone, > > > >My 2-month old daughter, , just got her last cast removed last > >Wednesday and has been wearing the P/M bar.
