Guest guest
FHSI Launches Innovative Outreach Practices Database Online! What is the Innovative Outreach Practices Database? Farmworker Heath Services, Inc. (FHSI) is pleased to announce the launch of its Innovative Outreach Practices Database. The Database showcases pioneering ideas and best practices for improving farmworker outreach programs from farmworker-serving organizations throughout the country. Over 90 unique practices are featured on the FHSI website from four years of FHSI’s Innovative Outreach Practices Reports. Database viewers can select from a list of twenty-seven topics featured in a user-friendly index to learn about tried and proven strategies, practical tools, and activities for reaching out to farmworkers. Intended to facilitate peer-to-peer exchange, the Database enables the discovery of innovative approaches to four overall areas: health outreach and enabling services, health education and prevention strategies, cultural competency and responsiveness, and health data and outcome measures. How can I access the Database? The Innovative Outreach Practices Database is meant to be used as a reference tool by outreach staff at organizations who are seeking new strategies to improve the effectiveness and reach of their outreach programs. Using the Innovative Outreach Practices Database is easy and simple and requires only two steps! Visit www.farmworkerhealth.org/iopr.html and click on an index title of interest from the list of twenty seven possible titles. Some example index titles listed include: Behavioral/Mental Health, Case Management, Dental Health, Mobile Clinics, and Policy/Advocacy/Awareness. A list of corresponding innovative outreach practices will appear. Click on the one(s) of interest and a description will appear, including a description of the practice and the name of the submitting health center. Who is FHSI?
