Guest guest
I had (have?) IBS pre-op and, after the initial three to four weeks of adjustment post-op, my BMs are firmer, easier to control, and less frequent than they were pre-op. I have read on this list previously that surgery often improved this symptom of IBS, and it certainly worked with me! Kim Fears Message: 5 Date: Mon, 20 Aug 2001 23:18:53 EDT From: GABS12992@... Subject: Re: Share your experience please! I would like to hear from anyone that had IBS OR any other type of illness or sensitivity that gave them alot of diarrhea as a pre-op. Surgery is just around the corner and my stomach has been terribly upset. For once I don't think it is my normal horrid stomach but either a virus or from the Cinobac I was put on to prevent UTI's by a urologist. Please tell me how you are doing with your BM's after surgery. I know diarrhea is to be expected at first but honestly, if I am going to lose my quality of life from always being tied to a toilet, I'd rather have the RNY. Please forgive my panic but surgery is practically here!
