Guest guest
Ferrous Fumarate (the iron in vita4life)and Calcium citrate do not bind.. it is really the ferrous sulfate form of iron that binds with so many things. The formulation in Vita4Life's multi is OK to take without worry of interaction between iron & other minerals. Just an FYI.. Liane > What about iron? I feel so much better since taking them so I wonder if the other stuff had everything I needed? Hugs, Judie

Guest guest
interesting Judy, I found liquid centrum at my drug store, started taking it and because of its easy absorbancy....liquid....i felt/feel so good when i take it, that I thought, hell, how would i feel if i took a product that was made to be absorbed by people with WLS surgery, I felt I might/must have been missing somehing before with the chewables....hence, my renewed interest in vita4life!! thanks for all your answers, and to all those who have heard my redundant questions!! lennyB __________________________________________________

I take my calcium citrate with my chromagen forte so it doesn't bind, either (makes the rest of the time I take vitamins a little less stressful, too LOL). But, I meant is there enough iron in the vita4life? I take iron in my daily supplements but ALSO an additional two pills of chromagen forte by itself (well, by this I mean seperately from the other pills except I take calcium with the iron). This iron is IN ADDITION to the stuff in the multis. So, I was just wondering if there is enough iron in the vita4life or if one would have to take more iron supplements on top of it? I'm not sure b/c I know they ARE formulated for people with malapsorption, so perhaps they do account for this and put adequate extra iron in... all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal january 25, 2001 pre-op: 307 lbs/bmi now: 225 (yeah!) Guest guest
Lenny, I have a sneaking suspicion that many of the vitamins out there have fillers in them so they are not as potent as those we need! I find myself with much more energy taking vita4life so it must be that Im not getting everything I needed in the other pills. The prenatals you can get at wal mart for 5 bucks a bottle but Im wonderding if it has everything I need? Probably not! I did notice that my labs improved a great bit with the vita4life, especially with the calcium! And its so easy to take.....one packet has 12 capsules in them.....I open it and take out 8 and put the other 4 away......add 4 the next day to that 4 etc...goes further this way and i dont need the full 12 every day. As long as my labs are good with 8 I will continue taking that number. I dont think you can go wrong with them!! They simplify our pill taking which I really appreciate! Guest guest
....yeah, extra iron in there alright. I know of some who had to cut down on the number of capsules becuz their iron was too high! This is why Im taking 8 to begin with for the next couple of months until I get my labs back again...... I think I'm going to look into this, too -- the chromagen forte isn't cheap. Neither is the citrate (although I still might supplement with some pills from what it sounds, it wouldn't be as many).... Not to mention the ADEKS... hmmm... I'll have to check out that website pronto! all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. Guest guest
, What Im doing now is supplementing 4 Citracal in place of the 4 vita4life I dont take....in other words I take 8 vita4life and then take 4 citracal just to make sure Im getting enough calcium UNTIL my next lab work to find out how the iron and others are doing. If they are ok I will continue as is....if iron and others are low then I will up the rest of the vita4life...... I have to have 2,000 mg of calcium a day. 12 capsules of vita4life provide the 2,000 mg but if I dont need that much iron and others I might as well begin with 8..supplement the calcium and see how the labs go and then go from there in 2 months.....
