Hi ,

I'm so glad you all made it home and Collin did well with traveling. I

miss you guys a lot, but plan to keep in touch. I'm wondering if you

can give me a call sometime in room 215 as I don't have your number.

So if we're not in the room when you call just leave your number on the

message machine and I'll call you back.

Take care !

Oh that is sooo wonderful! Hey keep Angel Flights in mind for the December

trip!

Re: home from Iowa

Hello all! GREAT NEWS - NO SURGERY! Dr. Ponseti was so please with

range and movements that we have avoided the surgery (another heel cord

release). We had 2 casting sesions with Dr. Ponseti another set of cast that

will remain for 14 days (come off on the 12th). He wanted to go straight into

' new stylish P/M shoes/brace but with us living so far away he is

playing it safe by giving more time for his feet to set to the

degree/angel they need to be in order for the correction to hold. However, we

will have to make a return trip in December (the 28th) for a follow up. I am

sticking woth Dr. P and not going back to the doctor in in Little Rock,

Arkansas. We maybe back before should we loose correction. Pray that I can find

cheap airfare for the December trip, as this falls right after Christmas. I just

have to come up with a flight home(departure) as I already have the ticket to

return to Iowa in December.

Continue to pray for as we hope correction will remain and that his new

P/M shoes/brace will fit properly and the casting will be over. When the casts

come off in 14 days the brace will be worn for about 22 hrs a day. Pray that

his heels will fall into his shoes, he will be comfortable and not the fight the

brace and shoes as he did with the DBB. We are 682 miles from Iowa and it is a

long trip for travel.

I'm glad you're home and that he didn't need a second tenotomy!

That's fantastic! Thanks for sharing the pictures- they were

wonderful! I loved the pictures of Colin, &

together with their special casts! :) The last one with

sleeping spread out was hilarious!!!

I wonder if the airlines would give you discounted rates for your

flight in December because it's due to medical reasons and you've

got enough advanced notice to fill out any necessary paperwork to

verify it? It's worth calling them on it anyway! Or maybe look

into Angel Flights?

I hope that something about your son's case will convince your first

doctor to seek out training so that we can get a " convert " in

AR...we could certainly use some more good Ponseti docs down there.

Get yourself a big bottle of vinegar for soaking ' cast

off....and get ready to take pictures of his beautiful tootsies.

Congrats!

I lan on trying to work out something with Airlines. I asked that Dr. Ponseti

send a letter to the doctor here at Arkansas Children's Hosp. Dr. P knows him

and he and his staff have even been to the yearly meetngs. Why they can't stick

to the protocol and give the kids with clib feet the attention is beyond me.

I am so excited to take off his cast. My husband and I are ready to try out the

P/M's. I just hope this go around will be better than our fist.

Hi ,

Your picture album is truly remarkable and brings tears to my eyes

when I see that extraordinary man looking so sweetly at little

. I'm so glad I got to meet you and your family, you are

such a dear. Thank you again for inviting us to your place for

dinner. That was so nice for both and I. I miss you guys

and and Collin. It looks like we are going to be out here a

lot longer, another 4 weeks or so. We've been here 2 months now and

I'm sooo ready to go home. I miss my son and husband so much. I

feel like 2 more weeks I could handle, but the sound of 4 weeks just

seems too much. Oh well, I guess we'll make it work. Take care.

Sorry to whine about this, we truly are blessed to be here.

Sincerely,

Joyce

Home from Iowa

Hey everyone, We returned home last night from Iowa. Collin is doing

very well! He had his surgery on Friday and we left to drive home

sunday, stayed at a hotel sunday, then arrived home late Monday night.

Our internet was shut off when we got home, so I'll try to work that

out and figure out bills by the end of the week. We are visiting my

parents right now, so I just wanted to pop in quick, didn't have time

to read my e-mails yet (so many!!). As soon as we get internet access

at home again, I will catch up on all of the boards and my e-mails.

Talk to everyone soon! I hope all is going well I don't think I'll

have time to read much more tonigh.

Hang in there! You are doing the right thibg . You are making huge sacrifices

and you will be rewarded when it is all said and done. What a great example you

are setting for your husband, kids and to other parents. Youv'e earned the

right to whine - so just come to me and I will support ya!

Sincerely,

Joyce

Hi ,

Good to see your e-mail message. I'm not sure if this I'm doing the yahoo

e-mailing thing correctly...I've had a difficult time trying to figure out how

to post messages, reply and send e-mails within the Yahoo e-mail address. I've

only been going through the group message website.

I'm so glad that you and Nicolas didn't have to go through another tendon

release. I look forward to hearing about his progress.

Chas is due to be out of his casts next week and into the shoes. I'm a

bit nervous about receiving them...I hope they fit and he doesn't relapse.

We enjoyed meeting you at the Mc House. When do you go back for

' 3 month check-up? We're trying to decide if we should go back to Iowa

or see the doctor in St. Louis.

Fondly,

Alanson

Hi ,

Thanks for your kind words. I'm doing great now, I don't know why it

all of a sudden hit me so hard. I figure this is my special time

with , especially since we've had her for less than a year.

She's such a sweet and fun little that she makes this easy for

me. I really enjoy the time I get with her as her mommy. I miss you

all and I treasure the friendship we've made. Hope is doing

well. Take care!

Love,

Joyce
