Guest guest
I've put Everett in to a regular bed just in the past week (he'd been sleeping in a play pen). It's a lower bunk that sits about as high as toddler beds. Anyway, he can get in and out of bed with his bar on. s. Re: Re: bar banging on the crib/bassinet The toddler bed we have Kelsey in is up against the wall with a bed rail across the front so she is still protected somewhat but she can get in and out of the bed with her shoes on. She usually does wait for me to come get her and take her shoes off but not always. The bed is pretty close to the floor so that takes away some of the concern about her hurting herself. She can get out a regular bed with it on as well. We learned this on vacation when she was sharing a queen size bed with her older sister. Oh, when we put the bed rail on, I also duct taped it to the toddler bed underneath the mattress so it has a little more stability than normal. This toddler bed has worked out really well for us. Guest guest
Reid- My is a banger that goes way back-LOL! If anything, it sometimes scares the willies out of me cause of the racket-I have run upstairs thinking the bed had collapsed on one or more occasion. I can tell you I am glad we did not spend a fortune on baby furniture!! It has done no harm that I am aware of-he's been in his fab for almost a year now- just nicked the furniture. I recommend a sleepsack to keep the banging to a muffled sound so that it doesn't wake up Austin. Sometimes I watch him and think he should someday join the circus. My heart used to race when I heard that sound but now I just giggle. Guest guest
My son did this with his casts, and then with the shoes. He liked the vibrations on the mattress, and the noise it made. He also did it on the plastic baby changing stations in public restrooms, as if he was saying to everyone within earshot - Look what I can do! It hasn't hurt his development or his feet at all. He's just about 11 months now, and is a perfectly normal happy boy. In fact, I think the lifting of the bar strengthened his abdominal mucles even more. I tried lying on the floor and lifting my legs that way, and boy did my stomach hurt! And I didn't have the added weight of shoes and the bar. Hmmm...now that I think about it, he seems to have lost interest in banging his feet around in the crib. I'm guessing your baby will lose interest as well. > > does anyone have trouble with their child lifting their feet up and > banging the bar/shoes on the crib or bassinet? Guest guest
Kelsey would do this at night but it would wake her up everytime she did it. we had to get rid of the crib and let her sleep in her pack and play so she could sleep. Now she sleeps in a toddler bed and occasionally, she bangs it into the wall at night or if she is awake in her bed, you can hear the banging. I fear our plaster will not survive in her room. Guest guest
Does he cry when he wakes up then? Aleksander did this for a bit too. We let him cry for a minute or two before going up to check on him, just to see if there really was something wrong. Now you hear the bang if he rolls over and hits the crib, a sigh, and then him sucking his thumb. It is terribly cute. Have you tried a sleep positioner at all? That may keep him away from the side of the crib. Otherwise I know others here have mentioned that they just have their babies sleep in the playpens with the mesh sides. No loud banging that way! > > > > does anyone have trouble with their child lifting their feet up and > > banging the bar/shoes on the crib or bassinet? Guest guest
The toddler bed we have Kelsey in is up against the wall with a bed rail across the front so she is still protected somewhat but she can get in and out of the bed with her shoes on.
