Guest guest
Hi there, I'm not too much of a talker until I think I know people a little, so I just want to say thanks for all the great posts. ANd a friendly reminder, for folks like me who read emails, to please get rid of the reply text so we don't have to scroll so much through all that. Sometimes I miss posts because I just get tired of all the scrolling. Anyway, my consult is Sept 13 and I'm finally beginning the process. I'm really nervous about lots of things, from approval, to tests, to being absolutely sure I want to do this. I'm committed, yes, but it is drastic. However, not as drastic as the fact that I cannot run, jump, play or do much except hobble, sit nad occasionally swim with my arms. Drag!!! My BMI is 60. Do you think this is too close to borderline for comfort on a lap procedure? I guess the doc will let me know. I wanted your opinion. I " d rather have lap, or " assisted " lap, cause I guess Rabkin actually does a little inside with his hands, than open, but I want to be safe too. Thanks for all your great comments!! Wish me luck in the insurance process. =============================== Hawkins netmaker2@... =============================== " Those who can't laugh at themselves leave others to do the job! Guest guest
With a BMI of 60 the safety of the lap is going to depend on the distribution of your weight. If your weight is distributed abdominally (male pattern) then the suregery would be more risky than if it is distributed with some in your lower body (butt and thighs - more typical for women).
