Guest guest
My sleep apnea is very severe and I use a c-pap machine which is set at 20. The second I start to fall asleep, I quit breathing without it. I am wondering if any of you had a problem with your machine with the ng tube in. Were you able to wear your nasal mask over the top of the tube without any problems? Thanks, Shirley

Postop I was on a ventiltor for 2 days. The rationale for this was my Pulminologist and Surgeon are of the opinion that, breathing through the nose some air might have gone to my stomach and put excess pressure on the staple line. After that time they put me on a BIPAP in the hospital. with a lessor setting than my personal CPAP the settings for the BIPAP was 10/4 and my CPAP setting is 12. I also had other complications like some heart rhythm problems and Renal failure. If you have anyother concers don't hesitate to email me, Good luck. Guest guest
I am wondering if any of you had a problem with your machine with the ng tube in. Were you able to wear your nasal mask over the top of the tube without any problems? Thanks, Shirley HI, I used the mask that just fit over my nose, in the recovery room they found that, that mask wouldn't work with the NG tube. I asked if they had a bigger mask around and they sent for one that fit over nose and mouth. This fit fine with the NG tube.
