Guest guest
Hi everyone, I haven't been online for a while as I just had my baby son Luke and commenced his treatment. Luke commenced his plaster at 7 days old and everything has been going OK except that when we removed the second plaster the calf muscle looked a bit rounded and was stiffer than the non club foot leg. The doctor says that club foot children may have a bit more rounded leg but is not sure why the leg is stiffer. Has anyone experienced this? Besides this he was very pleased with the results of the casting and did his tenotomy that day. I appreciate your help.

Guest guest
, Congratulations on the arrival of your sweet baby, Luke! I cannot say that I've ever heard/read of a clubfoot leg being described as " stiffer " . Maybe someone else here has experienced that with their child. Do you think Luke was just resisting the movement because he wasn't used to having that leg out of a cast? Can you tell us what doctor is treating him? Did he only need 2 casts and then the tenotomy? That's pretty quick! Hopefully when this last cast comes off, you won't notice any difference in his legs as far as movement is concerned. & (3-16-00, lcf)
