Guest guest
Hi all, It has been a while since I posted about Dr. Dobbs' Genetic Study so I thought I would put it out there again. Dr. Dobbs in St. Louis, MO is conducting a study to find the gene (or genes) involved in causing clubfoot. He is searching for participants for the study who have 2 or more clubfoot family members. It doesn't have to be within your immediate family; uncles, aunts, cousins, etc. are okay. You can participate from anywhere, even overseas. All that is required is to be willing to go to your local doctor or diagnostic testing facility and have blood drawn and send the samples to Dr. Dobbs' office. If you are interested in participating, you can contact me at jagrindon@... and I can pass your contact information on to Dr. Dobbs. Or, you can email Dr. Dobbs directly at dobbsm@... . He is in great need of finding more participants as they are making substantial progress in tracing the gene. By finding the gene they may be able to prevent clubfoot from affecting our children's children. This is also a plea for those of you who have previously indicated your interest in participating -- if you haven't gone to get your blood drawn yet, he would really appreciate it if you could get him the samples. Thanks for your interest! Jenna (4/7/01) & Sammy (9/25/04, RCF, Dobbs' Brace 16h/day)

Guest guest
Hi , I still haven't heard back from Dr. Dobbs' office about our participation. I'm assuming that perhaps we didn't meet the criteria for the study.
