Guest guest
, if your babys feet are not corrected, and they are fitting them in shoes - yes, it's going to HURT alot! If I am understanding your email correctly. My daughter's first doctor put me through that and wanted me to " DEAL " with the crying because " she will get used to it " but yet her feet were still clubbed - inverted - even after her first Tenotomy!!! In order for their shoes to be on correctly, their feet must first be molded that way. Please consider another doctor - in fact, visit the preferred list on Ponseti's site with University of Iowa. Please forgive me if I sound upset, it's not upset that I am, I'm hurt that some of these doctors just DO NOT GET IT! Went to the orthotist yesterday and watched as SHE reefed Hayden's foot up and he screamed. Then she felt it necessary to say " you're crying so hard and I'm not even hurting you " . But then why is he crying that hard? His bones don't move that way yet. Anyway, she molded some foamy stuff around his feet and then fitted that in the shoes to see if they will stay on, which they did except that he was completely miserable for the next 7 hours until I removed them. My husband told me that he had talked to a colleague who has a son with clubfoot (he is now 15) and that she had seen Dr. Pirani. She said she didn't like him because he called her an over-anxious mother, but that she had liked Dr. Alvarez when she had consulted with her. I started to panic as he was telling me this because I thought he was now going to give me more resistance to switching, BUT then she told him that her son LOVES Dr. Pirani! So it was good for him to hear something positive from someone other than me. I'm going for my referral today and possibly will get Hayden's vaccinations done as he hasn't had any yet. Guest guest
You can feel better because I have an appontment to see Dr. Pirani next week! I can't wait to see what he says. And I agree, if the shoes aren't fitting, no matter what they do, then they will hurt. I know that there are times when I have tied my own shoes too tight and my whole leg has hurt, so how much more would it hurt if your foot wasn't even going into the shoe properly. I'm really interested in seeing if Dr. Pirani thinks Hayden's feet are atypical. Thanks for the concern! We're almost on the road to proper correction. --- Raek and Jennipher Assria wrote: --------------------------------- , if your babys feet are not corrected, and they are fitting them in shoes - yes, it's going to HURT alot! Guest guest
Are you wanting photos of uncorrected atypical feet or corrected? I dont currently have access to 2 years worth of pics, but I DO have current photos of Kai's corrected foot, and there may be some pics on the CFPics site of some of the other kids uncorrected atypical feet. Guest guest
Anything would be great and I'll also look for uncorrected.
