I know it'll be worth it, but I'm a Blue Cross PPO victim,

so I'm continuing with the process just hoping

the " BC gods " will reverse their decision.

Any chance you can convert to BC PPO? I have not had one second of

trouble from them and Dr. Anthone at USC is a preferred provider-- he may

be on the hmo, too. And I bet the air fare is cheaper to LA

Please answer some questions for me. Anyone? Anyone?.....Thanks!

1. What is a " panni " ?

A panniculectomy-- also known as a tummy tuck-- is done after weight loss

to remove excess skin, or is done pre-op to reduce body mass (I had 20

lbs hacked off in June, still waiting for a date for the DS)

2. What is the difference between " distal, medial, and proximal "

bypass?

length of the common channel-- distal is usually 100 cm or less, don't

know about the others-- has to do with how much malabsorbtion you do--

the less common channel, the more mal absorption.

4. Is the " sleeve " just referring to the " hotdog " shaped stomach?

Yep.

Good luck Shilrly-- how's live in Arcata? I was thinking of retiring to

Eureka eventually

Nan E. Pre op with Dr. Anthone in CA== starting body mass index 71
