Blue Cross Blue SHield Denial

Hi

There was once a posting on this group's message board as to how she

(or he) got Blue Cross Blue Shield to pay for the Ponseti

Brace. We are having problems...our insurance (BCBS) is denying our

claim...if there's anyone out there who can help we would greatly

appreciate it.

WE have Tricare Standard

.. I know it's not the same thing, but since both are somewhat Federal ... maybe

this will help. It seems they are required to deny these claims as non-covered

services at first, but you have to appeal. In the appeals package we included a

letter of necessity written by Dr Ponseti explaining why our son couldn't wear

the Markells, a personal letter from my husband and I, a copy of the pamphlet

that come withthe P/Ms now, and a picture of our son as he wears the brace. The

invoice just says " moldedortho shoes so some insurance will reject your claim

because you don't need to buy a bar every time.I can sendyou copies of the

package we sent our insurance if you like. Hope this helps. Good luck.
