Guest guest
Aw I'm sorry Theresa. I do remember you. Suggestions? HA HA HA, I mean like how do you keep a four year old down period??? I hope the surgery goes well and everything, please keep us posted on it all, OK? s. Tendon Transfer Tomorrow Morning Don't know if anyone remembers us, but my son Dylan was born in 2001 with bilateral clubfoot. We will be going to Sinai to see Dr. Herzenberg for a bilateral tendon transfer bright and early tomorrow morning. Any prayers for a safe procedure and quick recovery would be appreciated. Also, any creative ideas for keeping a 4 year old busy while in casts and wheel chair for 6 weeks would be appreciated as well. Feel free to e-mail me directly at tsaylor2001 @ aol.com or post to the list. Take care and God bless. Guest guest
Theresa, Good luck with the procedure. I think you are in good hands with Dr. H. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Dylan! PS. I would love a picture of Dylan for Dr. H's quilt. I guess you missed the post about it several weeks back. My mom is not quite finished and I can add Dylans picture if you are interested. I know this is absolutely the last thing on your mind right now. I just didn't want you to feel like you were left out. We are presenting the quilt at the September symposium. Guest guest
Just said a little prayer (also for his recovery in case he's already out of surgery!). Did his feet just start turning in again? How long was he out of his shoes before this happened? just stopped his shoes when he turned four about a week and a half ago and I'm worried and afraid I'm going to miss something. As far as entertainment I guess you've already thought of all the obvious new DVD's, video games, that type of thing. just got a " board type " game for his birthday that he really likes it called Captain Bones Gold. What about that water mat that they write on with the special markers. Could he lay on his tummy in the floor and do something like that? likes playing Toon Town it's an online game that you subscribe to monthly or yearly. He also like some of the plug and play games (like Mission Paintball) for variety (he has an older brother). Could you make like a lap desk thing that goes from arm to arm on the wheelchair to color on or play with play-doh on so that he would have a workspace while his legs where still elevated. I would think variety will be the key here with a four-year-old. Good luck!!! Let us know how he's doing! Guest guest
It's been a while since I posted to let you know Dylan was having his tendon transfer. He did fantastic in his casts. He went into walking casts two weeks ago and is completely cast free as of this past Friday! He's having a bit of tenderness and pain in his legs which I believe is just because he's walking and using muscles he hasn't used in 8 weeks. I called Dr. H's office and the fellow said this is most likely the case but to keep an eye on it and if it continues to make another follow up appointment. Has anyone else experienced this with their little one following the ATTT? Hope everyone is doing well! Theresa > > Theresa- > Of course we remember you!
