Guest guest
Mollie made it through her shots just fine. I gave her some Tylenol just before we went in. It makes her sleepy in about 10 minutes, so she was dozing by the time they called us back. She got 3 shots, and cried each time with the stick, but quit as soon as each one was over. She was even smiling by the time we left. We sat in the the car and fed her awhile before we left. She slept on the way home and has been her usual self all day. I thought we were in for a cranky day for sure, I am so thankful I was wrong!! I can't believe my baby is 5 months old today. (Sniff,Sniff) It feels like just yesterday she was still in my big ol' belly. Marci & Mollie 5-25-05 BCF DBB 23/

Guest guest
The Tylenol idea is good. However, remember that Tylenol, besides relieving pain, reduces fever as well. You gotta make sure the baby is not running up a fever before you give him the Tylenol because that might be a sign of infection and the shots must not be given if the baby is ill. You can do that at home (most accurate using a rectal thermometer) or waiting until the nurse does it at the doctor's office. Monitor any side effects very closely for the first 12 hours. Some babies may develop redness or a rash, even some fever. I gave my baby Tylenol every six hours the first day. Keep feedings normal. For those who breastfeed,it is a good idea to lay down next to your baby on the bed so you don't put pressure on the legs and baby can doze off some more to rest as much as possible. Good luck..... andra > > Mollie made it through her shots just fine. I gave her some Tylenol > just before we went in.
