Guest guest
Lemme see...I had no complications, so I was eating things like pureed veggies in broth, yougart, sugar free pudding, protein shakes, tiny bites of soft scrambled eggs, sugar free popsiciles, things like that. Hang in there...if you rush through the stages, the pouchie will not heal right! I remember drinking TONS! Crystal Light, water, Fruit2o, thick meat broth with no meat in it...good luck!da6bearz wrote: Good Morning Everyone!I am now seven weeks out tomorrow. Guest guest
Hi : My question to you before making suggestions is: what is your program/dietician/surgeon saying that you should be eating? It's really important to follow the advice of your health care professionals at this early stage of being post-op. Francisco > > Good Morning Everyone! > > I am now seven weeks out tomorrow. Guest guest
Actually, it depends on which facility you go to. Richmond use to move to stage 4 at 6 weeks but they have changed it to 12 weeks. Tina >
Guest guest
I've seen my doctor two times since surgery. The first time it was just liquids. Then the second time he finally said I could add Cheese, tofu (YUCK), eggs, and that's about it. You can only do so much with eggs before you are tired of food. > > > > Good Morning Everyone! > > > > I am now seven weeks out tomorrow. Guest guest
Thats so funny you say that, salad was the only thing that I craved too. Dr. Dennen said I could have it when I went to my Dec. 2nd appt I was 8 weeks postop then. I was really nervous only had 2 bites but it tasted great. Wait for your Dr and nutrionisit to approve you though. Kristie ---- da6bearz wrote:

Guest guest
, you were the one looking for egg recipes, weren't you? I just discovered one in my cookbook last night that I hadn't seen before and thought might be useful for some people - at least if you're not lactose intolerant. It's got a bit of flour in it, but only a little and you might be able to substitute something for the flour. It's worth playing with, at any rate. Cottage Cheese Pancakes (makes 8-12 pancakes, depending on size) 3 eggs 1 cup cottage cheese 1/4 cup flour 2 Tbsp. melted butter salt to taste Beat eggs well (till foamy). Stir in other ingredients till moistened (don't overbeat). Drop by spoonfuls onto greased griddle or skillet. They need to be cooked longer than normal pancakes (use a lower temp) and turned carefully. I used a non-stick spray on the griddle, and used onion powder as well. Yummy! They also keep in the fridge for a day or two and reheat well. I wouldn't try freezing them, though. For the family, I serve them with applesauce, but I eat them plain. Guest guest
It's too bad you don't like tofu. The way it's prepared in Asian restaurants (at least here in San Francisco) is really yummy. > > > > > > Good Morning Everyone! > > > > > > I am now seven weeks out tomorrow. Guest guest
It will get better with time when you will be able to add a little more to your meals. Remember it's not a diet, it's a life chance. It does get better with time, don't worry. Take care. Donnada6bearz wrote: Good Morning Everyone!I am now seven weeks out tomorrow. Guest guest
You are right all doctors/locations are different. In fact, every time I read the Richmond Kaiser Gastric Bypass " Binder section " online it keeps changing from the one I was given. Went to my 6 week group appointment with Dr. Baggs and he definitely said do not eat raw vegetables until Stage IV...In fact, one of the ladies there who had a different doctor said she was told she could already eat salad, but again he stressed that he did not recommend it because he did not want to see us having to have the procedure where they have to remove it.
