Guest guest
That's Great Francisco!! I have one Magic Moment that brought me to tears. I've been wearing my normal clothes Size 20/22 that everyone keeps yelling at me to find something not so baggy. I've told them I didn't want to have to go buy something. So my daughter said to me last night she had some pants that were big on her to try them on. I did and I couldn't believe it they fit and they were the stretch size 14 jeans. WOW I'm still amazed I'm only 7 weeks out today!!! > > Hello everyone: > > We haven't shared magic moments in a while. Guest guest
Francisco, Funny you should mention milestones, I was just telling my husband in the car some of mine keep in mind I am only 3 months postop so I am sure there are going to be bigger ones down the road. Milestone# 1-- Being at the movies feeling comfortable in the chair, putting my feet up on the chair in front of me and my arms around my legs (less belly in the way) Milestone#2--Sitting on my daughters bed talking to her and I realized I put my legs " indian style " without having to manually do it!! Milestone#3--Getting into a 14-16 at Lane Milestone#4--Went out 2 weeks ago and I wasnt the biggest person in the room by far (Not that it matters but for me I always scanned the room to see and I was always the biggest one there) Milestone#5--Jogging with my son and not hearing my belly flap (sorry I know it's gross but honest) Kristie 10/3/05 311/277/214/?? ---- manisodream wrote:

Guest guest
These are great Francisco and are always a good reminder to keep track of the little things and make the surgery so worth it! Hmmmm....milestone for me...I had kickboxing last night and the instructor commented several times how much more flexible and coordinated then the 1st time she saw me (about 3 weeks ago). That felt pretty good. After my 6 weeks are up with this class, I'm starting a 10 week, 6 day a week workout schedule with the same martial arts center. I can't wait! I actually feel stronger! Took my measurements yesterday (it was officially 8 months out). In the last 2 months I lost 3 inches off my hips and 3 inches off my waist and now where a comfortable size 12. Lost 15.5 pounds in the last 2 months. The weight loss has slowed for me but I'm good with that. I'm working on getting more in shape. Guest guest
Francisco, congrats! Now since you asked, here are a few of mines. Lets see... Walking and legs not rubbing together (huge one for me) Walking up the stairs for the BART without getting winded Getting picked up by my husband with ease (yeah!!) Children hugging me all the way around with ease (feels great) Being able to say no to chocolate without feeling upset Being able to do 2 miles under 30 minutes (I know this is slow but it is better than 40/45 minutes) Using the regular stall in the rest room and having room instead of going to the handicap (which I still do sometimes just out of habit) Sitting on the bus (with very little room between the rows of chairs) and being able to sit with my legs crossed for 50 minutes without any problem and still some room between my knees and the chair in front of me. Thats enough for now. Pam Marsh --- manisodream wrote: > Hello everyone: > > We haven't shared magic moments in a while. Guest guest
, that is wonderful. Keep on hanging in there and working the tool honey because you are going to be amazed...truly. I did not mention size but I stared out in a 20 and now I am a 8 petite but it looks like 6s are right at hand (yikes). Never do I recall wearing a size 6 except in Elementary school. Guest guest
Tina, hang in there honey. The weight will continue to drop off no matter how slow. Just stay focused and time will have passed and you will be posting on your new stats. I am so happy for you. Be encouraged. Enjoy the kickboxing class. You are getting muched needed (please don't be offended. I meant is good for the body and mind) as well as learning techniques to defend yourself. Having a guy approach me as I got off BART(saturday), and being told, " I like that! " as he pointed up and down at me. 4. Being able to run up the stairs at the college without a second thought. 5. Being able to sit in the tiny BART seats with Francisco and both of us fitting with alot of room to spare!!! > > Hello everyone: > > We haven't shared magic moments in a while. Guest guest
Tina This is great. Your so active and that's wonderful. Yes the weight lose really slowed down for me after 6 months. I am at goal, but the last pounds to where I want to be are slow going. Take care. DonnaTina wrote: These are great Francisco and are always a good reminder to keep track of the little things and make the surgery so worth it!Hmmmm....milestone for me...I had kickboxing last night and the instructor commented several times how much more flexible and coordinated then the 1st time she saw me (about 3 weeks ago). That felt pretty good. After my 6 weeks are up with this class, I'm starting a 10 week, 6 day a week workout schedule with the same martial arts center. I can't wait! I actually feel stronger!Took my measurements yesterday (it was officially 8 months out). In the last 2 months I lost 3 inches off my hips and 3 inches off my waist and now where a comfortable size 12. Lost 15.5 pounds in the last 2 months. The weight loss has slowed for me but I'm good with that. I'm working on getting more in shape.Tina>> Hello everyone:> > We haven't shared magic moments in a while. Guest guest
I love this topic.. my co-worker and I were listing a bunch off yesterday.. Last week I broke my toe and had to go in for x-rays.. I was told to hop on the table. I was thinking to myself.. " What about the weight limits? I'll break the table!! " Then I remembered the new me! My son went off to college in Kansas earlier this month. When I got back home from taking him I found my 17 year old daughter having a tough time with the changes, and missing her brother.. She crawled in my bed and it was so amazing.. to both fit.. to sleep without crowding, to be able to stay on my side without invading her space.. When she went back to sleeping in her own room a few days later it was because she felt safe & secure within herself.. not because I crowded her out. 2 weeks ago I bought a size 18 pant.. Last February I bought my 1st pair of jeans since I was in high school.. They were a size 32, I could BARELY get them snapped & zipped, and when I was brave enough to sit in them, I had to roll off the couch and fight my way to standing to get them off. It was quite funny, and felt like quite an accomplishment to even fit a pair of jeans.. Now, 11 months later I am in a pair of 18's and still losing.. (I saved those 32's and tried them on the other day!) Flying home from Kansas.. to walk straight down the aisle of the plane(not sideways to fit), not need an extension for the seatbelt.. to use the bathroom in the plane.. to sit in the seat without taking over the next seat, or having my knees rammed in the back of the seat in front of me.. I was loving it.. I notice the little things and rejoice in them constantly.. And the chair at work.. wow.. my chair used to be so big.. I hated people coming to my desk because my chair just overpowered the space.. I got the new chair a couple months back.. a normal chair, nothing special ordered, nothing that I would cringe at if someone else sat in it.. just a chair.. And then there are booths.. to go out to eat and to have NO limits as to where I sit.. so wonderful.. I sometimes wonder if this will ever stop.. If there will come a time when I no longer notice all the little things.. all the changes.. when being smaller will no longer feel so amazing.. I imagine there will come a time when I run out of people to share all my 'magic moments' with.. Until then I will keep on being happy, and aware.. it keeps me on track to keep losing, and never go back.. Cathy V highest recorded weight 440.. (scary to think of what my actual high might have been) 5/24/05 gps 364 today 246 and still losing..
