Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for all the info! I'd respond individually but it would take a long time 'cause you all have a wealth of info! I really do appreciate the many responses - all good things for me to know. Asher is doing better - his personality is coming back, 1/2 flirt, 1/4 oppositional, and 1/4 clown - which is great to see. He was able to keep his sats up to 97 with a 1/2 liter of oxygen while he slept this afternoon so I'm hoping, crossing my fingers, that maybe tonight he will be able to go w/o oxygen. Probably too hopeful but I know they won't let us leave the hospital until he's been 95 and above (while awake) and 92 and above (while asleep) w/o oxygen for 24 hours. So... we'll probably be there at least until Saturday and then who knows? Asher is still having trouble, though, with gastric emptying (which used to be okay for him) and we've really had to reduce the rates at which he's tube fed - which stinks b/c I like to only tube feed him at night and let him run around " unattached " during the day.... I hope that, as his bug lifts, his gastric emptying speeds up. One of the hard parts about this disease is you don't know when its temporary or permanent and a mark of progression of the disease.... Oh well, enough about Asher. I do love to see him smile again. Anne R
