Guest guest
Hello all! First off, let me share a happy moment with you... I was finally able to break through the plateau I've been on (what seems like) forever. I just couldn't get below 462 and this morning, I weighed in at 458.8! I was both shocked and amazed... but HAPPY. Now for the "other" news. I really need some advice on a sensitive issue I'm having. I am finding myself getting more and more frustrated and even jealous because it seems that everyone around is getting their dates and surgery and I'm being left in the proverbial dust. Now, I know this sounds a little petty, and I want everyone to know up front that I'm very happy and supportive of everyone getting their date and surgery. It's just that for me, I've had so much weight to lose because I seem to be one of the most heavy people both here and in my "face to face" support group. Hence, alot of people that started their journey long after me, have had their surgery and I'm still working on losing the pre-surgery weight. For those of you who don't know, I was told in July of '04 I'd have to lose 100 pounds. That news put me off and I sort of went off the deep end and over the next year had a net gain of 24 pounds. So, when I finally got me head on straight about this, I had 124 pouds to lose. With todays weight loss, I have lost 75 pounds so far and still have 54 pounds to go before I get a date. I've lost the 75 since 7-24-05 and now it's getting somewhat more difficult. However, I've been getting a lot more exercise (mostly walking) and even tried getting in even more water, so with any luck I'll continue to lose. But, I do get a little discouraged sometimes. I thought a while about whether I should even bring up this subject here, but decided it would be okay. So what kind of suggestions do you all have to help me get over this frustration of being the only pre-op in the bunch (so to speak... I know I'm not in THIS group, but I am in the other one...). Help me please... Ron
