Guest guest
started on the cocktail on Friday... I was told to expect it to take up to 3 months to see a difference, so i totally didnt expect anything at all. He is a new child already. in his entire life i have never seen him with this much energy, and this happy... He RUNS all day, is sleeping about 15 hours a day (compared to 17-19 normally), is sleeping BETTER when hes down... hes eating more, and is seriously acting like a normal 2 year old!! I wouldnt read much into it except that it is seriusly night and day... he is a completley different boy than he was a week ago... he usually sits down and looks at books or colors for up to 3 hours a day, but now its maybe 20 minutes all day... hes just SO active! Its wonderful! Has anyone else experienced such a fast dramatic change?? I was not expecting anything to happen this quick... also his pee is a funky color... bright orange... the pharmacist said it was probably the Vitamin B1 and B2... anyone else experience this? Guest guest
Keely, The bright orange is definitely from the B2. Emilie had a pretty quick improvement when she started, too. She began with the carnitor about three years after symptoms started and then the CoQ10 about a year later, and I remember thinking with both, wow, it's our old Emilie! I'd forgotten how much energy she used to have before she her mito started showing...she really was a different person all of a sudden. She didn't keep up that much energy forever, but she's still much, much better than she was before the carnitor & CoQ10. , Mom to Emilie, 18, cp & mito complex IV Kaitlin, 18, cp Ian, 23 > Has anyone else experienced such a fast dramatic change?? Guest guest
Dear Keely, I am so happy to hear such good news and yes Leanna's urine is very dark colored from the B complex and that is ok because her body gets rid of the excess. Best of luck to you and hope to hear more good news.   Suhad Haddad -- Mom to Samya (Died 12-10-02 of Leigh's Synd.) & Leanna with same disease. Guest guest
I don't recall exactly how long it took for Grace to start improving from the cocktail, but it was also much sooner than three months. We were amazed just noticing color starting to show in her face and the dark rings under her eyes begin to fade. At that point we were at an assumption that she probally would not be with us for very long, and to see that was such a relief. Also I had never really had Grace ever look healthy before since she started getting sick at about 3 weeks of age, and she did not start on the cocktail until she was almost a year old. Now she is a relatively healthy 2 year old. She always will have her issues, but with the help of the cocktail we no longer have to worry so much about not having her around. I hope you have the same success with the cocktail as our Grace has. Best wishes. Find just what you're after with the new, more precise MSN Search - try it now! Guest guest
Asenath also had a VERY positive and fast reaction to the Carnitor in particular. We also began Citra-3 for her metabolic acidosis at the same time so not sure if one had more of an effect than the other but whatever did it was amazing. After only three days on the two items her 9 week straight horrible migraine lessened dramatically and her energy level increased so much. Then after a couple of months we also added the COQ10 and although we didn't notice a difference, we knew she needed it due to her labs. We know that Asenath would not be here today had she not been started on the cocktail when she did. Dr. Whiteman started her based on labs rather than waiting for a biopsy than the Lord.
