Guest guest
Hi everyone, My son Jaxon is 4 1/2 months old & has severe bi-lateral talipes. He has been through his casting and had the archilles release, although his archilles was still so tight that he needed surgery to correct his feet. Now he has just started wearing the DBB and has got big blisters on the back of his heels We are also worried about the scar from his operation causing him discomfort from the top of the boots (about an inch wide on both heels & only about 4 weeks old). Has anyone had similar problems? We have taken his boots off to let the blisters heal, but are now worried we are going to lose some of the correction... Thanks, Vicki

Guest guest
I don't know about the blisters but after my son's heel cord release- even after his last cast came off he had a pretty big scar that was tender for a while. I would put neosporin and bandaids over it and have him wear his shoes anyways. Good Luck w/ the blisters. Guest guest
my son just got over a blister from the brace and we had to take the brace off for a few days to let it dry up and heal. but, so we wouldn't loose the correction and work that was already done we would put the brace on him at nap time and nighttime still and still do his exercises during the day. also, we tried the bandaid and neosporine when he first got it and it only kept the blister moist in teh brace so it wouldn't heal. so i would advise against the neosporine and just use the bandaids so air can get to it to heal it. > Hi everyone, > > My son Jaxon is 4 1/2 months old & has severe bi-lateral talipes. Guest guest
Lanisoh lanolin cream for blisters. Works specially well on new and forming blisters that haven't popped. That and a bandaid-- heals up well and quickly too..... even in the shoes. Guest guest
Thanks everyone - I ended up taking Jaxon in to see Paolo Selber (our ponseti doctor) and he put Jaxon back in plaster for a couple of weeks until the blisters are healed, then we are going to try again with the boots(but this time with this wonderful groups advice & tips!). Wish I hadve found you pre-blisters! Vicki > Hi everyone, > > My son Jaxon is 4 1/2 months old & has severe bi-lateral talipes.
