Guest guest
Hello, I know when I’m having a bad day I pray, while some people use profanity. This is a rotten disease and as long as you warn others of religious or profanity content it should be ok. I have a delete key and I can just delete if I don’t want to see it. Each person deals with it their own way. In Dec 1998 and the first few years after I was diagnosed, I had a few choice words for the MD’s. Now since I’m in a motorized wheelchair, oxygen 24/7, and have VNA helping me I’ve really mellowed. As always take care and know you all are in my thoughts and yes prayers. Guest guest
Hi, Terrie! It's good to hear from you. I also curse a lot less than I used to. I probably peaked at about age 40, while I was still married. (There are some things worse than neurosarcoidosis!) Now it's just once in awhile, mostly because I want to be a better influence on my grandkids, plus it takes too much energy to pitch a decent fit. Even typing all those !!!!! is hard on my wrists! But different strokes for different folks. Whether it's habit, lifestyle, or coping mechanism, we have traditionally welcomed new members by saying this is a place you can be yourself, vent as you need to, say things you can't say anyplace else. It seems like we'll go quite awhile without much profanity, then kind of have a "flare." Terrie, don't forget to register your vote at the website. I hope that you are getting the best care possible, and I'll lift you & up in prayer. Ramblin' Rose Moderator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
Hi, VNA is the Visiting Nurse Association in town. They come out and help me wash up, do my hair and check my butt for bedsores since I no longer stand or walk. This way (my husband gets a break). We just moved back home after being gone since the end of March. The house was gutted and made handicap ready it’s wonderful, but at 50 yrs old (this year) we’ll be paying a mortgage until we’re 90!!!!!!! I got my computer set up & email back, boy did I really miss it. I’m unpacking slowly now, so when I get pictures I’ll post them. I have a journey album too, 130lbs Dec 1998 when I was first diagnosed, to around 250lbs now after 7 years of continuous Prednisone. (YUK)!!!!! Keep smiling and know both & I have you all in our thoughts and prayers. Always Terrie (Connecticut one) RE: New poll for Neurosarcoidosis What's VNA? Guest guest
Please don't assume that people who swear at times... don't pray also. It's not an either/or thing. We all have moods that go up and down. I usually only swear when I am in my deepest depressions and in alot of pain or just in some weird kind goofy mood. I pray throughout the day. Like Rose said...unless you walk in someone else's shoes. I grew up with seven brothers and live in a house of guys so it's easy to fall back on what they say sometimes. I really don't like being judged for what I say. I'd rather be judged for what I do and how I treat other people. I know of people who wouldn't dare swear but treat people like crap. just my opinion. Guest guest
Hi , I agree with what you said. I didn’t mean that some don’t do both. I use to when I had the strengh to. Now it’s better for me since I have the pain patch and Neurontin (2000mgs a day). Sorry for my spelling and grammer but I had my monthly Remicade Wednesday and I’m as the saying goes “Dragging Butt and Brain Dead”. I hope nobody felt I was judging them, that’s the last thing I would ever do. I’ve become so mellow and “bendable” with the Sarcoid you cann call me Gumby. Guest guest
Thanks Terri, I guess I am just upset about this voting about whether we can be who we really are. Haven't we given up enough. D*** it, now I'm crying again. This whole thing is really upsetting me and I have thought several times of leaving this group which means alot to me. Here they go again. I need to go lay down. love ya S.Terrie & Tarbox wrote: Hi , I agree with what you said. I didn’t mean that some don’t do both. I use to when I had the strengh to. Guest guest
When your brain is affected it does different things. Some people swear who don't normally swear from the chemical changes. I am not affected by it as I realize this is a painful condition and then most people do not know what it is and like we all know when you find out your results are normal and you have all these abnormal, horrendous things happening to you it is difficult. It is difficult to handle personally and then difficult to handle the attitudes you encounter. Like we have talked about before, you get to know WHO your real friends are during a crisis like this. And, then, you look sort of normal so everyone thinks you are making it up. So like I said I don't normally swear but I found myself the last 8 months spouting off and I thought where is that coming from? I am trying spiritual healing by going to a life transformation coach/educator. I have made great progress for myself and my doctor was amazed today. This might work for some and not for others but he took one look at my face and I know it is working for the past month. He even asked for her referral cards as they do believe in spiritual healing for MS, NS etc. It has been a lot of work, daily changes to my life but positive changes but well worth it. Guest guest
Neurontin (2000mgs a day). I'm on 2400 a day. I ran out (forgot to refill AGAIN) my daughter picked them up for me late and I think I didn't space my doses out right. If I got any mellower I'd be a jellyfish! Oh well no sock knitting tonight just 60 of Cymbalta & it's lights out in KY! Building a website is a piece of cake. Yahoo! Small Business gives you all the tools to get online. Guest guest
I'm with Stu on this one- if it weren't for cussing out this damn disease and the day to day pain I probably wouldnt be around now. Sometimes the only thing you can do is pray to God and cuss out the pain at the same time. Sticks and Stones may break your bones but words can never hurt you- not really true, but cussin never hurt me one bit- its venting anger and that is healthy, ask any shrink.
