Guest guest
I haven't been able to keep up with the boards lately, but have been trying to check in at least once a week and do some reading and responding. Just wanted to let all of you know out there that there is light at the end of the tunnel!! has 14 nights left to wear his shoes (he turns four on 8/12). He is pretty excited. We have a calendar that he marks out a day each night he gets his shoe on. But I think when he wakes up in the middle of the night he will holler out to have his shoes put on. Because lately he has been pulling his feet out in his sleep because the shoes are getting too small and he calls out to have them put back on. Guest guest
Yeah!! That is such a great accomplishment, if that is what you would call it....In all of our cases it is just what needs to be done and the kids will never really know there would be any different way... I am so glad to hear that you made it down the long road and that things are sounding really good for you!!! I wish your little guy the best... and that he continues to do well and that he enjoy his sleeping without his " shoes " on!! We are at the begining stages of the shoes wear and have had a relapse and had to start over when Avery was 10 months old. I stumbled upon this support group and got 'talked' out of surgery and I am still so thankful for that.. we didn't think we could start over with the casting and shoes because she wouldn't tolerate them and she is doing WONDERFUL... you would never guess that we had a problem last fall.... I know sometimes surgery is not an option but it should be the last thing that any of us try... So it is so good to hear about a child who is at the end of the road with the 'shoes' and had a succesful journey!! Thanks to Dr. Ponsetti and of course to all of the doctors who do follow the Ponsetti technique!! Happy Birthday !!! --- pammi_kay wrote: --------------------------------- I haven't been able to keep up with the boards lately, but have been trying to check in at least once a week and do some reading and responding.
