Guest guest
I received the lab report that I ordered from records release. I know it will be several more months before I receive the dr. report from my son's visit. We are waiting for the results of a skin fibroblast (He is suspected as having a fatty acid oxidation disorder). My son has low creatine, Coenz Q10 levels, and serum carnitine and extremely high urinary amounts of carnitine being excreted. Results of AGAT and GMAT testing were negative. Normal acylcarnitine and acyglycine profiles. POS result for newborn screen under the heading of reduced substances - but what does this mean??? The vitamin levels measured and results did not include a reference range on the lab report. I would like to tailor his cocktail to his needs but need some input on these results. He was taking poly-vi- sol multivitamin when these labs were drawn. Thiamin nmol/L 367 Riboflavin ug/L 15 Asborbic Aicid (P) mg/dL 2.3 Free Retinol (Vit A) ug/L 663 A-Tocopherol (Vit E) mg/L 8.4 Magnesium (S) mg/dL 2.2 Zinc (S) ug/mL 0.84 no results for Biotinase deficiency screen My son is 3 years old and about 34 pounds. I am sure it will be several more months before I hear from the dr. about these labs since it is going on 3 months already. Thank you in advance.
