OK I know from time to time we have to just take time to Laugh about our life, so today on my " 50th " birthday I went out and bought a Wheel Chair! lol

I've been trying to get my husband to go look at this one with me, but he's been putting it off, so today he asked if I would like to go to lunch, I said only if you go with me to buy a wheel chair, he was like Oh ok. he kept him self busy looking around, instead of being me while trying to get the insurance to pay, lol. I had to pay and get them to pay me back. (don't worry it's been a great birthday, last week my husband gave a me a surprise party and this week he gave me some earrings and a beautiful necklace of sapphire's) I just thought it would be fun to by myself a present today! So I will always remember my big 50. Marla

Marla,

It is so good to see you take such good care of

yourself! I love it! Now, does it come in purple

with white racing strips?

I gotta tell you, you are " one-up " on me. I thought

that getting my first pair of biofocals for my 18th

birthday was a biggie! LOL!

Hmmmm, saphires and a wheelchair! Is this where " go

girl " comes from?

I do hope that you continue to be treated like a

Queen-- you are so loved!

Hugs,

Tracie

HI Tracie, Well it's a basic black, the ones with color where just like blue and cost almost twice, I will just have to buy a bedazzle set and let my 12 yo at it, she is very artse so I'm sure she'll do a good job.

I had another blessing for my Birthday, one of my brothers (I have 5) but one that pulled back out of my life for years, (messy divorce things) but having Craig call me and wish me happy birthday and then wanting to know about my disease, he thought I had fibomyalgia, so I was able to describe NS to the best of my knowledge to him, that was so nice that he cared enough to call me, I'm thinking 50 is going to be pretty good! :)

Tami, My heart goes out to you. To have to deal with

chronic illness and the joy of an infant--- is not a

fair deal at all.

I looked up the mononuclear pleocytosis and what that

came up with was Gullian Barre Syndrome. That along

with the cns vasculitis and the meningitis is enough

to knock an elephant over-- so the fact that it is

attacking you in this way. I'm sure that they will

want to do IgE tests and ANA tests (anti-nuclear

antibodies) and see what is going on.

Most of what you describe is similar symptom wise-- as

far as the CNS vasculitis, the fatigue and muscle

weakness-- and it is unusual to end up with the

meningitis-- but it happens.

I'd seriously be asking about the Gullian-Barre and or

Epstein Barre syndrome. Both are viruses that can

cause these issues.

It sounds like you finally have a neuro that isn't

going into the bs phase of " post-pregnancy "

depression, etc. We all know that story-- if you have

breasts (w/o balls) then it must be hormonal and you

must be in a bad marriage and psychotherapy might

help....

However we know that even if those things are true--

that the depression is generally secondary to having

your life turned upside down by illness-- not

hormones.

I will say this-- when you are totally exhausted, in

pain, and not getting rested (what new mother is ever

rested) that anti-depressants can help by rebalancing

the seratonin and norephrinephrine levels. So don't

take it as a " total " insult. One thing we know about

chronic pain is that if these hormones are whacked

out-- that pain increases.

The other thought is that your body is deplete of

calcium/magnesium from not only having just had a

child. Right now, you aren't renewing the blood

nutrient/minerals that you need -- too much is out of

balance.

Here is a site you will find helpful.

Tami, whatever the docs decide-- please feel free to

come in to the group and tell us what is happening.

We can lend you a tremendous amount of support--as all

of us are up against the challenges you face--and you

do not need to do this alone.

Most sincerely,

Tracie
