Guest guest
It has been awhile since I have been active on this site. It has been 5 months since my surgery and 60 lbs down. The last week I have been dizzy and light headed. I take vitamins every day and eat pretty well. I must say that my water intake is less and I have given in to caffeine in the last two weeks. One cup at work. I know it is a no no, but I was getting so tired and it wired me up. I have an appointment today with Kaiser and I will see what they say. I went home three times last week cause of my dizziness. Anyone else get that way? My weight loss is slow now and I would have thought this would have happened when it was pouring off. I look forward to your input. Cecilia

Guest guest
You may have an inner ear infection, that causes you to be dizzy. Have them check your ears.... I have not had surgery yet so I am not sure what it could be related to as far as WLS. Hope you fill better soon and make sure you stop the caffiene also.... Guest guest
Hi Cecelia, Dehydration will cause the symptoms you describe, so be sure to get that waater in. Are you on any blood pressure meds? Have your pressure checked lately? It might be a bit too low with the weight loss. That could cause your symptoms, also. Nice to see you back! Guest guest
Cecilia, There's a " bug " going around my workplace that has sent several folks home with vertigo (dizziness) lately, so that could be what's going on. However, when I had a bout of dizziness a couple of years ago I turned out to be having extremely low blood pressure - 60/45. This had nothing to do with WLS in my case, since I haven't had surgery yet, but I was on three different BP meds at the time AND I had just started taking calcium supplements at a fairly high level. Turns out that calcium lowers blood pressure! My PCP took me off one of the meds, told me to keep taking the calcium, and things were fine. So definitely go in to the doctor, but when you do be SURE to tell them everything you're taking - meds, vitamins, minerals, and so on - so they can get the complete picture. Guest guest
Cecilia I started getting very dizzy when I started becoming anemic, again when my vitamins weren't absorbing right, my labs showed I needed much more vitamins and the doctor upped mine and now things are fine. Are your labs okay? Good that your going to the doctor. Take care, let us know. Donnacecilia wrote: It has been awhile since I have been active on this site. Guest guest
Cecilia, I have to say when I started to get light headed and dizzy I was getting dehydrated. Try drinking a little more and see if that helps. > > It has been awhile since I have been active on this site. It has been > 5 months since my surgery and 60 lbs down. Guest guest
Thanks, you are right. I have a whole week-end to regroup and go back to basics. I even have an appointment with mental health mon. I think maybe I need a mental, physical and spiritual tuning up. I had heard that some possible go through these changes. So I am reaching out for help. I am getting too comfortable and need to get more serious.
