Guest guest
Hi, - I just got an email today from someone who has set up an on-line store to sell bar covers. The main page will be working tomorrow, they said, but the store part is working now: www.shop.clubfootdesigns.com The other link that will be working tomorrow is www.clubfootdesigns.com There are also some moms here who have made them for others () in the past. I made mine for my daughter's brace without sewing. I just used hot- glue and glued fabric onto a piece of foam pipe insulation and wrapped two pieces of velcro around it on either end to secure it on the bar. You can also just use duct tape or electrical tape to hold the insulation on if you don't care about aesthetics (since she's just wearing it at night and not going out in public with it on)....and as long as you don't think she'll pick at the insulation. Otherwise, I'd glue the fabric on it if you think she'll rip the foam apart. Others have used car seat strap covers that velcro on. Or bike handlebar pads. HTH! > Hi there, > > I'm new to this group. Guest guest
P.S. I think I forgot to welcome you to the group! If you don't mind telling us, what doctor is treating your daughter? > Hi there, > > I'm new to this group. Guest guest
Hi My son is now 2 and he sleeps in a 'car bed'. We recently moved and decorated and the wall by his bed is scratched to bits. I say to him what are all these marks on the wall and he says his shoes did it........ Anyway we have a cover on it which is a child's car seat cover and it just wraps around the bar and does up with velcro. We now have floor tiles and as he walks everywhere in his FAB it leaves marks from the metal bolts so I have now put on the bolts some covers which stick on and would normally go on the bottom of chair legs or table legs to prevent scratching. Anyway even with his cover on and little pads I still have marked walls and bruises on my shins but I keep thinking we are over half way there now and his feet are wonderful.... Perhaps I will just redecorate when we get those shoes off!!! Rach, Steve & Connor -- Padding for DBB bar??? Hi there, I'm new to this group. My 1-year-old daughter has been wearing her DBB since she was 11 weeks old and we've never had any problems with it. However, now that it is warmer at night, we don't use a sleep sack, and she is dinging the heck out of her crib! She's put some major scuff marks in the crib - not to mention she can hurt someone with that bar!!;-) Does anyone know where I can get a cover for it? I don't sew, so I need something " ready made. Guest guest
Hi Rach, How does your son get on with the car bed - is it the Little Tikes one - I ask as we are thinking of getting one for our son. Re the padding for the DBB bar - I bought a seat belt cover and this goes over the bar nicely - what a good idea for the bolts - another suggestion is some tote socks as they have some grip. cheerio for now > Hi > > My son is now 2 and he sleeps in a 'car bed'. Guest guest
Hi Yes I think it is little tikes car bed. It has a sun roof and is turquoise and yellow. He loves it. The only thing is it is quite hard to squeeze in with him for a cuddle sometimes!!!! Rach -- Padding for DBB bar??? > > Hi there, > > I'm new to this group. Guest guest
Hi I saw your post about the car bed and you were thinking about getting one. We had (still have) bought collin the fire engine step 2 bed, theres a photo it on our website at http://www.geocities.com/chele323232 For Collin he didn't last in it at all at night time. His bar was 12 " wide and he just couldn't get to sleep knocking the plastic all night long. He loved to play with it during the day though. He actaully wanted to sleep on his floor or our bed when he had the fire engine...I think mainly because the bar being wide. We ended up buying him bunk beds, so now he sleeps on the botton bunk on a twin size mattress, he did much better with that. I'm sure it is different for all kids though. We just felt like in our case it was a waste of money. I'm actaully debating about if I should put it up on e-bay to fund part of our Ponseti trip! P.S. the car may be better because it doesn't appear to have high sides like the fire engine does. Michele > > Hi > > > > My son is now 2 and he sleeps in a 'car bed'. Guest guest
We are in the same boat. My mother in-law and I are practicing making covers ourselves over piping insulation. If you can send me some measurements I'm sure we could help out. hltrachta wrote:Hi there, I'm new to this group. Guest guest
, I purchased the car seat belt covers for infants at Babies r' Us they fit perfectly on the Markell bar/shoe. They have a little sun and moon and keep my little Diego busy! Hope this helps!
Guest guest
Wow, that would be great! She's asleep now, so I'll have to take some measurements in the morning. She is using the 12 " DBB, I believe. Thanks again, and I'll be in touch...... Hi there, > > I'm new to this group. Guest guest
Thanks so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. Wow, the kids really know how to tear things up! Every day I look at my nice crib and see how scratched it's getting - we bought one of those cribs that converts into a toddler bed, then a headboard for double bed, and man, we're going to have to paint the darn thing whenever we move to the double bed, as bad as it looks already! Oh well, I'll take messed up furniture anyday if it means my daughter will have " normal " feet! Thanks again! > > Hi there, > > > > I'm new to this group. Guest guest
Well, as of April we are now in Seattle, WA, and Dr. Mosca is treating Addison. He was recommended to us by our doctor in Atlanta, Dr. sy. He is WONDERFUL. Really set our minds at ease throughout the entire process. We literally took Addison to Dr. sy right after we were released from the hospital, and he treated her the first 9 months of her life. I can't say enough great things about the man. If there is anyone in the Atlanta area needing a Ponseti doctor, he's your guy. There are a couple of other doctors in his practice that also use the Ponseti method and I hear they are great as well. I hope Dr. Mosca is just as good. We've only had one appt with him, since now Addison is on a 3-month appt schedule. So far, so good....but I can't help but look at her feet and wonder if they are turning in already! I'm probably just paranoid. I asked Dr. Mosca at our June visit and he said they looked great. > > Hi there, > > > > I'm new to this group.
