Hi Melodie,

Welcome to the circle of Dr. Rabkins patients. I am a pre-op

scheduled for 7/26/01 surgery.

There is a specific group for Dr. Rabkins patients under

DS_Pacific_Laparscopy in which you can ask lots of specific questions

related to Dr. Rabkin.

The first consult consists of meeting with the nurse who will go

through the surgery procedure step by step until you can recite it

yourself. They cover the potential risks and side effects as well.

You then see Dr. Rabkin who gives you a physical to check your health

and determine if you are a suitable candidate for surgery. He then

takes the time to answer any questions or concerns that you have. He

doesn't leave you until you have asked everything you want to ask.

Remember there are no stupid questions!

There are also group support meetings once month in SF, also in

Santa and down in Southern California, Ventura I believe.

I hope this helps your understanding. Feel free to ask any more

quesitons.
