Isn't LOMOTIL the brand name for LOPERIMIDE?

My PCP prescribed Loperimide and I see that is

the name of the active ingredient in Immodium-AD

My goodness, what difference could it possibly make

whether it appears that one has IBS or not? I am aware

of doctors doing things like that but what's the disgrace

with having IBS? As a matter of fact, I do indeed have

IBS. I've noticed my doc's tending to ignore it more than

anything else.

I'm seeing my surgeon on Tuesday for my 3 week

follow up appointment. I will speak earnestly about this.

Thank you so much !

no- lomotil is diphenoxylate and atropine, while immodium is

loperamide. Lomotil is a stronger med.
