Isn't LOMOTIL the brand name for LOPERIMIDE? My PCP prescribed Loperimide and I see that is the name of the active ingredient in Immodium-AD > There are also many different kinds of irritable bowel > syndrome drugs that work well too. I am aware of doctors doing things like that but what's the disgrace with having IBS? As a matter of fact, I do indeed have IBS. I've noticed my doc's tending to ignore it more than anything else. I'm seeing my surgeon on Tuesday for my 3 week follow up appointment. I will speak earnestly about this. Guest guest
no- lomotil is diphenoxylate and atropine, while immodium is loperamide. Lomotil is a stronger med. > > > There are quite a few out there, the most common of > > which is Lomotil, which has an opiate base > > (prescription only). > > Isn't LOMOTIL the brand name for LOPERIMIDE? > My PCP prescribed Loperimide and I see that is > the name of the active ingredient in Immodium-AD > > > > There are also many different kinds of irritable bowel > > syndrome drugs that work well too.
