Guest guest
Hi to all and a Happy Thanksgiving, It has been so long and so many things have happened I barely know where to begin. My computer started having many problems over two months ago and it has taken many trying moments with Dell to get the problem resolved. But it is finally fixed, they sent me a new computer and I can catch up on things. I have been reading all of your posts when I am at work or near a computer. To all of you I want to tell you I have been praying for all of you and your families. It sounds like some of you have been having some really tough times with hospital visits, doctor's appointments, viruses and so on. I think of you all daily. Now, to catch you up on things at this end. Audrey started in September with pneumonia twice within a very short time. We just couldn't get her lungs cleared completely. Finally Amie and I talked to the Doctor about a percussion vest for her. That was on Thursday. Friday morning the Doctor called Amie to see if she were busy, she wasn't at the moment so he said good, I will be right there with a rep from the company that makes the vest. They were there in about 5 minutes and by Saturday morning Audrey had her very own vest. This Doctor is amazing, he had it approved by the insurance and everything. She has to use it on a daily basis, twice a day for 20 minutes. She doesn't do too bad with it. We call it her shake and bake treatment. This same wonderful Doctor also got approval for her to get the RSV shots even though she is three and they aren't supposed to be be eligible after the age of two. Since she had RSV both years they wouldn't give her the shots they have realized she is high risk. Audrey has been doing pretty good as far as her lungs, now however, she is getting ear infections again. Her tubes are still in place but they apparently are not working as they should. Wednesday Amie called me just before I was leaving for work and said Audrey was bleeding from her right ear. I told her I would meet her at the ER. Thank goodness I work there and I know all the docs and they took her right in. Sure enough, her right eardrum had ruptured. Now they are going to have to see the ENT and probably have to have her tubes replaced. Thursday brought a nice Thanksgiving. Hubby and I spent it with our son and family and Amie and her bunch went to his side. We are going to have them all here tomorrow. Amie has been very busy as she is taking classes and hoping to get admitted to nursing school for the fall of next year. Also, they just moved into their first home a month ago. Friday brought another frantic phone call from Amie. There garage had just burned down. Unfortunately since they had just moved into their house they had quite a bit of stuff still stored in the garage. Amie was very upset but as I told her tonight when I was over there holding my precious Audrey, "Look around this room and see how much we have to be thankful for. The fire could have been so much worse, we could have lost all of them if it had been at night." She agreed, but I know she is still shaken. She said, "Mom, when is God going to realize my plate is beginning to break?" Sorry this has been so long, but I wanted you all to know I am thinking and praying for you and four families. Hopefully my computer will is all better and I will be able to stay on line and keep up with you all better. Loving thoughts to all, Kathy, grandma to Audrey, 3 years
