Guest guest
I worked in a Nursing home when I got NS. That is strange. The home was built on an old landfill I am told. That is one of the things my Dr asked me. He was checking for mold and fungus. I guess now I have some questions to ask. Any comments? Anyone! What they are looking at here in the US is that we seem to have a high incidence of exposure to agricultural dusts, pesticides, and genetic predisposition. The thought is that we ended up exposed to a virus of sorts, and that our immune systems did what they should have done, but that somehow- the signals that normally have shut the system done, can't get the signal. FSR--Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research at www.stopsarcoidosis.org has several articles that explain where the Research is headed. Let's hope that they are on the right track. Molds and fungus don't seem to come up much in the research articles I've seen-- but the dust and pesticides do. I know that when I was working for an Internal Med MD, that it was his turn to handle the missionaires that came into town-- and they were from 3rd world countries--so lots of weird stuff. Guest guest
I had heard of a possible link between sarc & fungal infections but haven't been able to find out much more about the topic. Asked the doc but he didn't have much to say. Interestingly enough, I contracted a fungal infection at about the same time I had once of my first, noticable flairs...I was working in a hospital at that point also. Might have to do some additional research on the topic. Thanks for sharing. > > > In a message dated 11/3/2007 2:16:04 P.M.
