Guest guest
Is the baby going to be born soon or just being adopted in the next few months? We too are about to have an addition to the family as we were called a little over a week ago from our local human services asking if we might be interested in twin 13 month olds. Congratulations...we would love a set of boy and girl twins!!! We are looking hard...our homestudy expires at the end of February so we are trying to get a placement before that so we don't have to spend another thousand bucks! We started trying to adopt again last Feb. but my husband was seriously injured on his job mid-march and is still not completely well...so we had to put it on the back burner for a while. Anyway, b/c of his accident we got a small settlement and are using half of the money to pay for an adoption. We are still trying to do spec needs...but have given up on the state agencies...we spent months waiting for two different girls and they just keep putting things off. We are signed up with Acres of Hope...she gets 4-5 spec needs infants a week usually...so we are hoping. There is a family looking at our profile this weekend...they have a one month old with a very rare chromosome deletion...we still dont' have tons of medicals so I am not sure we will take her if they choose us. So we keep looking...but hoping it will be soon. Of course I will share the news. IM me some time! deb...mom to three great kids and wife to one amazing guy!www.LifeofLoveProject.orgwww.debwells.com

We too are about to have an addition to the family as we were called a little over a week ago from our local human services asking if we might be interested in twin 13 month olds. We spend a good deal of time praying, speaking with medical professionals about the little boy's issues, speaking to all the kids, and doing lots of research, and came to the conclusion that it is what God wants us to do. SO, either tomorrow or Monday we will have Joey arrive from the hospital where he has been for the last couple of days, and then on Wednesday, will move in from her former foster home. Our whole family is VERY excited. I know you must be too. I would love to hear more. and I talk often about our kids and the foster/adoption issues on IM. It is neat to be able to discuss things with others who have " been there, done that. Guest guest
It sounds like you are not keeping your foster care license, just your adoption license, thus the renewal of the home study needs to be done. Am I correct? We renew our foster/adoption license yearly (just in case) and it doesn't cost us anything, just need to attend several classes yearly and we enjoy them so we often attend the local or national conferences to get the needed credits. We haven't done any foster care that hasn't resulted in adoption thus far. We have been open to it, but both the two we had needed to be adopted and we wanted to adopt, so that is how Marquis and Kezia joined the family. Joey and will be a neat addition because they are just 1 1/2 months younger than Zipporrah and they have the strawberry/blonde colored hair. Since ZIpporrah has red hair, they look very similar. I know people are going to assume they are triplets, especially since looks SO much like Zipporrah. The big difference between the two is the eye color, one blue and the other greenish/brown (depending on the lighting). I enclosed a photo so you can see what the twins look like. Best wishes on finding the perfect match for your family. I believe God knows who that child will be and in Hids timing will send him, her, or them to you. Guest guest
They are so cute!!! Congrats again!!! about the foster care license...here in Tn...in order to be a foster home or adoptive home for the state, you have to complete the same requirements which we did. We adopted through the state...but the others have been private...not for lack of trying but the state is just not interested in moving kids anymore. We contacted them this time too but they woulnd't take the homestudy we had done by a private social worker and wanted to do their own which at that point, I just wasn't willing to do...I know it seems like I should get them to do the update, but then they wont allow you to have a copy of it to share with other agencies that might have a placement for you..even other state agencies, so I just can't be boethered with all their stupid policies! We did try to adopt a couple of different gals through the state of tx but they just wont move them. Since we are getting a settlement from Fred's injury we are just going to pay fees and adopt this time, but we are still really hoping for spec needs since that is what we feel called to do. deb...mom to three great kids and wife to one amazing guy!www.LifeofLoveProject.orgwww.debwells.com
