Guest guest
Sue, The all cotton will help if his feet are stinky but I don't know how much it actually helps with the sweating, I think no matter what their feet sweat in this brace. We had some slipping issues when Sammy used the AFO style and it seemed to be helped by really making that middle strap over his instep very tight, kind of press down with your thumb while you tighten it. If this does not start working better for you and/or if his heels do not improve I would definitely go in to the brace shop for an adjustment. They can try different types of velcro straps, sometimes that helps. Hope this helps, let me know how things go. > Hi , > > Thank you for checking up on us. Guest guest
Sue, 100% cotton socks probably wouldn't help much with the slipping issue as the thing that really helps socks keep their shape and not just slide around on your feet is the elastic-y stuff in them. We love the Old Navy and Gap socks for durability and they don't bunch up on the foot. Jonah wears the ones we bought for Hannah--who cares if he wears pink socks to bed? We haven't had a huge problem with sweating, but we did battle a severe case of athlete's foot over the summer. One thing I did was to cut the toes out of pairs of socks that were a few sizes too big for Jonah to wear with his FAB. That way he could get some airflow in there at night. It could be worth a try for you. Those plastic AFOs can cause trouble with the sweating issue since they are so non-breathable. Then the sweaty feet slip around so much more easily... The afftected foot isn't slipping around at all though? Good luck! I'm glad to hear that you have the blister under control.
