Guest guest
Hello everyone: Today, Feb 4th is the first official day of training for the National AIDS Marathon. I have decided to train for the full marathon--26.2 miles! I will be timed in a three-mile run and placed in a pace group for the remainder of the six-month training period. Since December, I've ramped up my workouts to meet this challenge. I wake up at 5:30 AM to workout 6 days a week. On Mon, Wed, Fri, I do a circuit workout combining sit-ups (300 crunches), push ups and free weights. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I do a maintenance run of 3 - 4 miles. Saturdays are distance/endurance runs anywhere from 6 - 15 miles. I ask for your positive thoughts as I embark on this monumental challenge. However, this is nothing in comparison to living with HIV/AIDS. I'm so blessed to have my health, and I want to turn that gratitude into action to help those less fortunate than me--the men, women and children who live day to day struggling with their health due to HIV and AIDS. I dedicate my training and my run to my dear friend Troy who is living life to the fullest with HIV, and to the more than 500 members of my church who have been lost to AIDS. If you would like to sponsor me, please do so at www.aidsmarathon.com . I'm runner # 6010 in the San Francisco Marathon. You can also request a form from me if you prefer to donate by check. Thank you to my sponsors: Jackie Lam* Tamra Doughty lba Pena* Gemma Nimedez-Arbas* Blow Atlantis Black Mona Wentling* Valley Relocation & Storage** Weiss *$50 - $99 **$100 or more Total so far: $445 Total to go: $1255 Wish me luck!
