Guest guest
How familiar are you with the rewards that pharmaceutical companies propvide to physicians and surgeons (and sometimes other medical professionals)who undertake promotion of the latest products of that co? They underwrite the research for their products and have used their power to impact editorial decisions in medical journals. Because of this, editors at the world's most prominent medical journals, alarmed that drug companies are exercising too much control over research results, have agreed to adopt a uniform policy that reserves the right to refuse to publish drug company-sponsored studies unless the researchers involved are guaranteed scientific independence. I have been wondering about the economic benefits that have been provided to Dr Ren and Dr by the manufacturer of the Lap- Band. I've been involved in drug trials in the past and am currently involved in one. Trust me, there are *huge* economic rewards out there for folks who hold hands with the pharmaceutical and medical device organizations. in Seattle > > The one thing you should be aware of though is that Dr. Ren is very > high on > > the Lap-Band procedure now; > > It seems interesting to me that Dr. Ren is following the latest stuff > rather than sticking with the DS as her primary procedure.
