Guest guest
Wow! I'm so surprised by this. You shouldn't feel bad at all, in my opinion. I only took walks around the house for the first week and didn't return to a more vigorous workout schedule until after I was released by Dr. Baggs. You are doing FABULOUS!! Don't let them get you down. You just had MAJOR surgery. Rest, drink your water, and take little walks. You'll be okay. Tina > > Ok, so I just got a call from Kaiser Richmond to check on me. I told them I was fine and my pain was good and I felt great. They asked what I was doing for exercise. I told them I got out and walked twice yesterday, about 2 blocks each time (which I thought was doing really good right?) and she said ok, and what did you do today - so I told her I went to WalMart, now that in itself I thought was an accomplishment! At 2 whole days post-op and I am out and about at Wal-Mart, I thought I was doing pretty well until I was told that that would slide for today, but that I needed to do something to really get my heart rate going.... " really get my heart rate going " ? Should I be running a frickin marathon 2 days post-op? I just thought I was doing so well - I guess it just threw me. I have been worried about venturing too far and taking on more than I could handle, but it seems I'm not doing enough? > > Barbara >
Guest guest
Barbara I think you are doing fine! You are only two days post op and as long as you are doing what you are doing its enough. Dont get discouraged. > > Ok, so I just got a call from Kaiser Richmond to check on me. Guest guest
Tina, Gordy and , THanks for the support. I was so surprised that she said that to me - discouraged is exactly the word I was looking for. But I know I am doing all that I can and I am so not going to let that lady get me down. Guest guest
Barbara, first of off, congrats on your surgery. Listen to your body and do what you know is best for you. There will be time for those longer walks and getting your heart rate up. Be encourage. Pam Marsh --- " Hokoana, Barbara " wrote: > Ok, so I just got a call from Kaiser Richmond to > check on me. Guest guest
Barbara You're doing just fine, sometimes when we are post op we take the wording of people a little wrong, especially being on pain medicine ( I know I was a little sensitive). Don't worry about it, you are doing the right thing, just make sure you're walking some every day it will make you heal faster. If it's at Wal Mart or 2 blocks or from one end of your house to the other 20 times, that's fine. Keep up the good work, and try not to go to the down side, sometimes after surgery we have a tendency to get a little depressed, that's why going out and getting fresh air or being with someone helps. I would come by but I have a cold and you don't need that right now. LOL Donna"Hokoana, Barbara" wrote: Ok, so I just got a call from Kaiser Richmond to check on me.
