Guest guest
- Congratulations!!!!!!!!! What a great post! I'm glad Grace is doing so well. Happy belated 4th birthday, Grace! Jen, I'm sorry you're having more issues with your feet. Doesn't your brother have cf too? How is he holding up? I spoke with Dr. P briefly about those braces that you mentioned (for night-time wear) and he mentioned that there was a slight concern in having children wear them because some doctors thought that they put pressure on the growth plates and could cause issues with stunting leg growth- but I'm guessing that it's just a theory and that there probably isn't any studies done on it. He just mentioned this- but he didn't say one way or the other if he himself had experience with this with his own patients (I'm guessing not). Maybe you can talk to Dr. Frick about it. I'm so happy to read your post! I hope you're enjoying your new home. Best wishes- & > Grace had a checkup w/Dr Frick Aug. 16th and everything was Great. > It was such a relief to hear!! Guest guest
Hi Jen This is , Pablo´s mum Pablo is 3, and unfortunately , we also had to cop with a mild case of Artrhogryposis, lukily only afecting him his legs.. I also tried to avoid surgery, even we flew from Spain to visit Dr. Ponseti 1 month before the surgery trying our last chance to avoid it..when he saw Pablo´s feet his answer was: He should have surgery, you are in good hands ( he is treated by one of the 2 certificated doctors in our country) He had a posteomedial release last march. Because Pablo was older after the surgery I contact to Dr. Dobbs and ordered his bar, to make him easier the nights... During the day we use a DAFO here is the web http://www.dafo.com/ I have notice that it holds pretty much better his feet than the normal AFO. His orthotist mentioned that if Pablo did not tolerate the bar he could sleep with it aswell... I don´t know for other children but his lower legs has not to much muscle so he won´t lose them by using this... Hope this help > Grace had a checkup w/Dr Frick Aug. 16th and everything was Great. > It was such a relief to hear!! Guest guest
, First of all I'm so glad to hear that Grace is doing so much better. I'm so glad! Second, I don't know much about those braces but have been looking at one for myself, the ones I saw were in the $50-85 range. They stretch the achilles and the plantar tendon I think. I'll let you know if I end up getting one. Thanks, > Grace had a checkup w/Dr Frick Aug. 16th and everything was Great. > It was such a relief to hear!!
