Guest guest
Hi Sassy, Don't worry. they have a great staff in Richmond. I had Dr. Baggs. He is a brilliant surgeon who can be a bit short with people but, who cares. He is fantastic. He did lapriscopic on me when I have lots of scars. I ended with small bandaids. He fixed two hernias. He is absolutely great. Dr Fisher is good too. He is jolly and positive. I met him but he was the partner to Dr. Baggs. The others I did not know but don't worry they are all good. I love going to Richmond. There is a great diversity of people and everyone is kind and supportive to one another. They finally are giving us two sessions with the therapist per month which is not as good as with Gity in SSF but it is OK. We have about 20 in the group. All types, pre-op and post ops. I am very happy there and it is a newesh hospital, totally clean and easy to get to. Hope to see you soon. Lilka

Guest guest
HI I went to Richmond and had both Dr Fisher and Dr Baggs. Dr Fisher is head of surgery and Dr Baggs was just coming on staff so he assisted Dr Fisher. I saw them both throughout my process. There are two other doctors Dr Park and another one who is brand new. I highly admire both DR Fisher and DR Baggs...they saved my life twice. I really wish they could be my pcp. > > Hi Sassy, Don't worry. they have a great staff in Richmond. I had Dr. > Baggs. He is a brilliant surgeon who can be a bit short with people > but, who cares. Guest guest
Hi Sassy: I went to Richmond too...I had surgery in November...Everyone there was great and I had the new surgeon Dr. Im who is excellent...At the consultation with the surgeon, I spent a whole hour asking him every question I could think of, even the difficult one, Have you ever lost a patient? He was just wonderful....The only thing I experienced different than Tina on surgery day was that I walked into the operating room.... Richmond does have a very strict policy of no protein drinks and the staff will not budge no matter how much you try to discuss it with them...Good Luck and enjoy your journey!!!! Congrats! Or are you the Pam who was at the Oakland support group back in the summer when they had their clothing exchange? Either way, congrats on surgery and your fabulous progress! At least I believe it was you. I do not write too much, but I always love reading the postings. Congratulations on your progress too...When I started this journey I would have just been happy if I fit back into my size 20 clothes and here it is 10 weeks and I am already wearing them....When I hear people discuss sizes 10 and 12, it just seems so unreal.... Guest guest
Hi Pam! I thought the e-mail addy was you, but the weight threw me. I thought you started out smaller than that. Yes, that was my swimsuit, which would now be " swimming " on you! LOL Congrats on your progress! Sounds like you are doing great! I had my six month post op appointment this morning. They are scheduling me for an endoscopy because I still have pouch pain. I guess they will be calling me with a date. Weight was 177 today. They said that 181 was my point where I had lost 2/3 of my excess weight, which in their eyes categorizes my surgery as successful. Gotta love those stasticians. LOL Anyway, guess I'm pretty much on target, which is good. I think I'll go put my 12's on. hehehe. Guest guest
Hi Laurie: No, I started at 365.5 lbs, but lost 62.5lbs before my surgery. It also helps that I am 5'10 " tall...No one ever guesses what I weigh...Very solid fat..LOL! My orientation was August 5, 2005 and had surgery November 30. You are right, the swimsuit does not fit any longer, but I did get to wear it once when I visited my grandchildren....I am sorry to hear your pouch is still giving you some pain. I know I am still a little sore, but I am only out approximately 10 weeks...Hope everything goes well with your procedure! You are right, the swimsuit does not fit any longer, but I did get to wear it once when I visited my grandchildren....I am sorry to hear your pouch is still giving you some pain. I know I am still a little sore, but I am only out approximately 10 weeks...Hope everything goes well with your procedure! Hope to see you again at the Oakland Support Group (third Wednesdays of each month).... Pam Orientation: 365.5 lbs Surgery: 303 lbs Today's Weight: 253 lbs Goal Weight: Under 200 lbs..... I think I'll go put my 12's on. hehehe.
