Guest guest
Hi , The screw that holds the bar to the curved metal bar. Either the washer pops off (even when they dent up the end of the screw really good...I believe they call this pinging it) or the head of the screw breaks off (this doesn't happen as much). Thanks, > > > Does anybody else have problems with the Dobb's > > brace constantly > > breaking. My son received his second pair on July > > 1st and it has > > broken 4 times. Guest guest
, Do you see Dr. Dobbs at Shriners or at Childrens? I ask because the brace is different at the two different locations. From what he has told me, he has been happier with the design of the one they are making at O & P labs (which is the orthotics shop that serves Childrens). I don't know about other parents but we have not had any problems with the brace from Childrens breaking. Dr. Dobbs is at the Shrine today so if you contact his assistant there: a, her number is 872-8342 ext. 273 or email him at mattdobbs@... you can tell him you are unhappy with the brace and how it keeps breaking and they should be able to get you set up with one of the braces from Children's. Now, this is assuming that you currently are in the brace from Shriners. If you already have a brace from Children's, my next thought would be that they need to use a different type of screw and washer but from your description I am thinking you have the Shriner's bar. Let me know...and if you don't get ahold of them today, I can see what I can find out for you tomorrow. Thanks, jagrindon@... > > > > > Does anybody else have problems with the Dobb's > > > brace constantly > > > breaking. Guest guest
Hi , We see Dr. Dobbs at Children's. I finally got a hold of Dave with O & P today and he had somebody fix the brace using something new. So hopefully this will work. I just wish I knew why this kept happening....what might be doing. Thanks so much, > > > > > > > Does anybody else have problems with the Dobb's > > > > brace constantly > > > > breaking.
