Guest guest
We use the mic-key button so not sure how different they are from what you use, but if you are unable to get al the liquid out of the balloon, you may need to visit a local doc or ER to get some help. Hopefully it isn't necessary to go all the way to the other doc. Did you try inflating the balloon with more water and then again trying to deflate it? Sometimes that helps when you have a balloon that doesn't want to shrink. Guest guest
Darla, A Nutriport is similar to a Mickey in looks. It is just a lot sturdier. blew Mickeys in about a day. It took her a week to blow a Mini. She has low gastric pH, even on Nexium. This one has lasted about four months, a new world record! We can't get anything in or out of the balloon port. The last time we went to the ER they had no idea about what to do. Our last mini fell out during sleep and I could not get another one in. I asked them for a foley and they freaked out. I told them I would put it in myself---I just needed one and did not have one! Argh!
Guest guest
I can't help with the tube but I have a thought to help with the fluid. We were told to use Maalox on Eli's tummy around his tube site. Wow. everyone should do this. Maalox works wonders. Ann mom to Elijah > > Darla, > > A Nutriport is similar to a Mickey in looks. Guest guest
Maalox is great for site irritation. But the fluid was pouring out of the tube. Fixed it by inserting a needle into the button and withdrawing fluid with a syringe. Woo. Hoo. Don't know why it took me so long to figure that out. Guest guest
KIMBERLY-CLARK MIC Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (P.E.G.) Anyway... I just thought you could use these as some ideas to help... Good luck.. Netty mom to Akasha 15yrs. Post your free ad now! Yahoo! Guest guest
's button has a balloon. I put it in myself. I don't like the kind with the disc because she would blow a valve too quickly for one of them---and they hurt so bad when coming out. Would not want to do that to her because it is too traumatic. I ended up piercing the stem of the button with a needle and withdrew the fluid that way. It came down and I replaced it with a spare. Guest guest
Hi Have you tried putting coke in the balloon sometimes it is stuck and the coke is suppose to clean it out. I have had to use this method several times. Put about 3 cc of room temp coke and wait about 5 minutes then try to pull to have liquid (coke or water ) come out. Then try to remove the tube. Hope it works ' Ange -------------- Original message -------------- Hi,Our woke up this morn with a completely blown Nutriport button. The valve has basically exploded and it is leaking gastric fluid. I tried to switch the button out and could not get water out of the balloon valve. I pulled the button towards the skin but there must be water in the balloon because it would not come out. Would love ideas about how to get the dumb thing out. Our GI is about four hours from home. Please contact mito-owner with any problems or questions.

Guest guest
> Hi > Have you tried putting coke in the balloon You can't put coke through the water port. This works well for clogs to the tube but not to the balloon. The valve was broken and that was why it did not work.
