Guest guest
Hey Barbara.... What the heck is wrong with you ? On my second day after surgery I walked fourteen blocks.....and then I woke up. Man that was a BAD dream...LOL You are doing fine. I'm sure that your case worker is just trying to make you aware of the importance to get in some exercise. I take walks around the house all night long. Maybe 5-8 laps and the carpet is starting to show it. but I have a heck of a time convincing myself to get outside during the day but when I do it gets easier every walk I make and I'm able to walk a little farther each time. Hang in there and don't forget your vitamins and sip, sip, sip that water. I may try and make the Richmonmd meeting tonight if I have enough energy....we'll see. Have a great day and remember...you're doing great !! Regards, Gordy > > Ok, so I just got a call from Kaiser Richmond to check on me. I told them I was fine and my pain was good and I felt great. They asked what I was doing for exercise. I told them I got out and walked twice yesterday, about 2 blocks each time (which I thought was doing really good right?) and she said ok, and what did you do today - so I told her I went to WalMart, now that in itself I thought was an accomplishment! At 2 whole days post-op and I am out and about at Wal- Mart, I thought I was doing pretty well until I was told that that would slide for today, but that I needed to do something to really get my heart rate going.... " really get my heart rate going " ? Should I be running a frickin marathon 2 days post-op? I just thought I was doing so well - I guess it just threw me. I have been worried about venturing too far and taking on more than I could handle, but it seems I'm not doing enough? > > Barbara >
