Guest guest
We got new shoes this afternoon..he screamed for an hour before going to sleep. He pulled and tugged at the shoes while he cried. All because they are new? How do you make them softer or break them in quicker. I haven't had this problem with the other pair because they were already broken in. Guest guest
You know what...both of you and Rach said that this happened and you thought the shoes were too big...that is funny because I was thinking to myself that the shoes look enormous on his feet. I wonder why they gave him such a big size! The moving to Atlanta thing has been put on hold until further notice from his job. It will probably happen but I am not sure when. Thank you. Re: crying in the new markel shoes Oh Lordy , We went through that this summer. I finally ended up putting Zoe's old shoes back on the bar and she has been fine. I honestly think the others were too big. She first had blisters every 3-4 nights, on the tops of her feet. She also got her foot out of them a lot even though they were done up very tight. As soon as the blisters would get better she would get more. I finally went back to the orthotist and they put a larger insert in the back of her shoes. It was really hard and we had a horrible two nights. I cut that out out and we were OK for a couple of nights then blister city. Then I went back and they put a soft insert in the back and some padding on the bottom of the tongue. Still not great. To be honest I really was questioning whether it was age and that she just really wanted the shoes off and trying to get them off causing the blisters, etc. I put her old shoes back on the bar and she has been fine. I am letting her feet grow a bit and will give them another chance. We went through 3 months of off and on bad nights and that is the really the first problem we have had. Are you guys ever moving to Hotlanta? Hope our experience helps some. I would make sure they did not skip a size in his shoes. I am still waiting for a real answer as to whether they did that on Zoe's. If the others are not WAY to small, I would just put them back on for a while. I think that as long as the bone that is on the inside of your foot (you know where adults get bunyons, what is it called?) is still " inside " the shoe, they can still wear them, even if their toes are hanging over. If someone knows different, please tell me. Good luck, let us know how it goes. Guest guest
We also had trouble with Connor's last pair of shoes. Our physio didn't have the size we wanted so she she gave him the size up and they were well too big. I put his old ones back on and went back and got the right size and he has been fine since. Guest guest
, When we got Sammy's new pair in June we were at the orthotist for quite a while trying on different sizes. His original shoes were a 00 and they tried to put him in a 1 1/2 wide! They were like clown shoes on him. I made them pull out pretty much every shoe they had in stock to try on different sizes and widths until I found ones that fit his foot properly (a 1 medium). They were really good about it, but I felt if I had not been proactive about it they would have put him in those huge shoes and left it at that -- then I'm sure we would have been in the same boat as everyone else with blisters and sores all over again. If you feel they are not the right size I would definitely go back to the orthotist to be re-fitted. Also, I think they have a habit of putting them in whatever is " close " to the right size if they don't see the real right size in their stock right off the bat. It is extra time and effort (and probably costs them more) if they have to order a pair. We had the guy digging through boxes - he finally found the ones we ended up with were in a box marked with the wrong size so he never would have found them if I hadn't been insistent. > > We got new shoes this afternoon..he screamed for an hour before > going to > > sleep.
